Yeah my plan is to keep having them put it in the notes in case anything happens, from what I've read on other manufacturer forums (also a 4-Runner forum) is that it may be related to the brake-booster kicking in. "lag between the voltage regulator and the PCM communcating" was another item of interest on a GM forum.

I drove over 200 miles in my father-in-law's '15 land cruiser this weekend which has a similar pump/accumulator assembly. There was no noticeable feel in the brake pedal when the pump switch on though I could hear a similar faint buzz/hum during the pump spinup.

So I'm curious to know why the pump engagement/disengagement feel in the brake pedal is so pronounced on the tacoma. I'm also curious to know if this is something that all TRD OR's exhibit or if it's something that's more pronounced in certain examples.

cheaper components and/or the design is less refined would be my guess

After digging around the internets, it looks like they used to put 27F batteries in with tow packages (1st/2nd gen), popped the hood and I have a 24F in an Off Road w/factory tow package. Anyone else have this? I wonder if its a way for them to cut cost, it seems the 27F has a larger storage capacity which makes me wonder if when the booster, lights, all the electronic shit going on in the truck is where I'm getting the power suck from and the 24F is just not beefy enough to handle it.

    Any thoughts?

Just thought I’d post here if anyone else has had any input.

I’m getting the vibrating pedal :( it seems to have just started at 9,000 miles. So why now?

When I push the pedal down, key on, engine off. It hums for a good while.

If I start the car it will vibrate for 1-2 seconds every 2 pedal pumps.... weird.

Then it will happen when coming to almost any stop.

This is super annoying, has anyone had any success with the dealer. Is there any fix?

I have a 2015 TRDoffroad. It just started buzzing or at least i never noticed in before now for some reason, like every other time I step on the brake. I took it in early just for a quick look see, and they thought it was normal.

The only time I heard it before is just starting the truck, or turning the key to accessory you would hear it spin up.

Still under warranty, but with out a dash light on or engine light—they seem to think it was a non issue. I am not so satisfied with that answer.

Brand new 2019 Tacoma off road. Break pedal has slight buzz every other break press. Happens even when car is in park so not rotors. Apparently this is because of electric breaking system? Very annoying.
