They go at both, you don't need them if you don't mind collapsing the metal the 1/8th inch to tighten them

@ARCHIVE Hey Eric- I'm new to all of this SUA and SOA but I love seeing everyone post pics of your products and how happy they are. I was just curious if you could give me a nutshell comparison of your hammer hangers on my 17TRDOR 4X4 in either configuration?

    Hey Dylan,

The HH do the same thing for both configurations, they help reduce the twitchiness due to stock hangers and help the truck feel more composed and capable. They are also the foundation for increased suspension travel with aftermarket springs.

I started supplying the washers for my shackle flip, I had to so that the shackle plates of my shackle flip would not be bent with All Pro and old Deaver bushings, because I measured like a real designer does and I made my shackle flip right width, so I had to fix the issue of other suppliers for my customers. After, I started making Hammer hangers and shackles to go with, I didn't want my shackles being bent in and getting blamed for it, so I still supply a solution for issues created by others. I'm one of those people who at a hardware store puts the wrong size bolts back in their rightful place that others carelessly chucked in the wrong bin

You start measuring other people's work. At first it's denial and thinking "maybe it's me", until the re- measure. Then there's the confusion, the anger, ...the acceptance.

Haha someone's gotta do things right. Just by looking at these things there’s obviously a lot of thought and quality craftsmanship getting to that final product. Gotta work this weekend so install next weekend. Thanks for answering all my lame questions

@ARCHIVE I currently have the TSB replacement leaf pack installed right now. I was thinking of combining the HH (w/ your included shackles) with the Wheelers multi-leaf AAL kit. Since the HH work best with the longer springs, would your shackle flip kit work better in my case?

Hey, the HH is working great for all spring lengths. You should get a great ride with HH, TSB + AAL.

I recommend you install HH but reuse stock shackles and stock bushings since the low arch stockers don't gain travel from the HH, but the capability is there if you ever jump to new full packs. So you're getting improved ride and hanger durability.

I loved the ride with TSB springs and HH on my truck

Quick review: Installed these Friday and im pretty damn happy with them. I wasn’t sure if it was “chatter” that i was experiencing but it seemed like an appropriate word for what was going on back there. My rear end seemed to kind of skip around a little. I thought it was possibly the rebound in my shocks. I bought these and tried to keep my expectations low. Turns out the thin flimsy stock hangers are the weak link. Another reviewer had mentioned a “more controlled” feeling with the u402s and that sounds about right as i turned down compression a bit. These should be grouped together with any shock/ spring combo imo and link well with my fox 2.0’s and deaver u402’s. Looks like some companies are now including them in their suspension kits as i was just looking at extended shocks. So cant speak on additional droop.

Was hoping for the 1/4” but got a hair over 1/2” of lift. So an extra 1/4” was easily worth it. Eric, if you read this would the 3.6 hangers lower me a bit with my setup?

Install wasnt too bad. 3-4 hours with the right tools, longer without. Along with included instructions @Nitori and @ETXTacoma have some great info on page 13. Only difference was after cutting hanger in half, popping it off and grinding rivets flush to frame I did use a torch and a small amount of heat on one upper rivet and it popped right out with a punch. So i finished the uppers that way. I don’t think Eric recommends it though.

Great customer service and great product. I have a pretty solid mid travel setup and functionality wise these are way up there for their price.

    Thanks eric!

Chiming in with another review of the Archive Hammer Hangers - these are awesome. Our roads are total SH*T in Louisiana, and I constantly bounced around on all the cracks and potholes, and the chatter drove me nuts. I really regretted installing OME dakars for a while, thinking these were to blame.
After installing Hammer Hangers, the ride quality is so much better. Now each hard hit isn't also accompanied by the typical shudder/chatter I used to feel. These are a great improvement-- the added lift is a nice bonus too.
Eric with Archive Garage is very helpful and attentive to his customers. Certainly recommend these and Archive to anyone else.

Just wrapped up installing the hammer hangers on my buddies truck.

Things are burly as fck. Second time removing rivets and it sucked this time too. Haha either way, my friend said he could already notice a difference in the ride quality, just leaving my community. Preliminary measurents, he gained roughly 5/8" in ride height on stock shackles.

When I get around to removing my drop bracket lift, I'll probably swap out my AG shackle flip for these AG hammer hangers.

Thinking about adding 4.5” shackles to drop rear 1/2” but not sure its worth it. Says shackles may not “drop out fully” with longer soa leafs like deaver u402. I just have oem length fox shocks atm but have thought about shock relocation or very least extended shocks. I did have a question about removing spring eye bolt that points outwards if i do install new shackles though. I put it in backwards on one side and it was scrapping hanger so i removed the whole hanger to correct. Gotta be a better way. Anyone know if i could have just dropped out shackle by loosing that bolt, disconnecting my shocks and lifting rear to get to it? Making sure not to stress brake lines. Or what am I missing

Regarding the shackle/spring eye bolt that points outboard being impossible to remove without removing spring or hanger, that is how it is stock, and short of putting a big ugly hole through the hanger, that's the best the situation gets I think, unless you carefully pick a bolt length and nut so it can be installed pointing inboard.

If you want to drop height, the 4.5 shackles should not hurt down travel if your shocks are stock location

Thanks Eric. Are you saying that if i went with an extended shock, in stock location, there wouldnt be a problem drooping out that extra little bit with that longer shock? But just when you get into a more extreme setup like a shock relocation that you would probably lose some travel

Correct, but it depends on shock length, with long SOA packs, the 4.5" shackles (when horizontal) will take back some of the gains that the HH bring from relocating the shackle pivot rearward

The next batch has been updated by removing the tab that was on center with the shackle. This tab was causing leaves to catch with short shackles, when drooped out and while axle wrapped, mostly for owners with shock relocation. I do apologize to those who are having this interference. It is easily fixed by using a cutoff wheel and taking the tab off. It takes less than 1/2 hour to trim and paint.

This batch is welded and being powder coated. Also, doing a drawing again for buyers of Hammer hangers on this batch. I'll pick someone at random who will win a refund of $360 (TW price for just hangers)
