Decided to take the easier way and ferment (instead of can) the first batch of pickles. Should be ready to eat in a few days to a week.

Got the garden weeded finally. You can see the pile in the middle. So many weeds. And so far so good with the ultra sonic vole deterrent. Maybe I will have tomatoes after all.

any flow restriction problems? We have one that doesnt seem to work that great as far as flow. I had some of those a few years ago, guess I should get them again.

My Mom actually wouldn't give me her recipe for years, and finally when she did she swore me to secrecy :oops:However there are similar recipes online, here's one that's pretty close:

    https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/dill-pickles-recipe-1950656

Edit: If you don't have a crock, we just use gallon jars and keep the lid slightly loosened to let CO2 escape during the process.

Flow is good. I have two sprinklers daisy chained in line behind it, and both run at the same time just fine.

Finally got mine weeded and mulched and cleaned up the gavel paths. Now only need to maintain it and let it grow. :broccoli:

First mounding where I found potatoes all along the entire stock. Cool beans. There are two more good sized ones that were not pictured. Fun stuff.

Critters are hitting it hard! But they have not yet penetrated the fortress’. They are only macking on stuff that is growing outside the wire. I started to curve and push some stuff inwards to try and yield as much as possible. Would be nice to build a 10’x10’x7’(high)in the same fashion for tomatoes only.

Thanks, labor of love. Like what you have going too. Fortunately I don't have to deal with critters.

You have the nicest manicured garden I have ever seen. Your stuff is way ahead of mine, but I guess that’s the difference between California and northern Wyoming. ;)
We have been real cool so far this year, most highs in the 70’s or lower. My corn is doing terrible, but it’s worth it, I love cool weather.

Thank you. They have done very well, except for grasshoppers and the like. But thankfully everything has survived well so far. I should have built them higher in hindsight. Too late, we’re going to have to share.

Dang, some of these Cherry tomatoes are growing much larger than the others. Like a mutation or something.

The Frankenstein potatoes are doing very well. Those have stayed greener longer. Can’t seriously wait to harvest.

Thanks. I'll tell ya, I wouldn't mind some cool weather this weekend. Glad I got my AC tuned up this spring. The garden loves it though. I didn't do corn this year and doubled up on the tomatoes. I miss the corn.
