I was installing 1.25in hub centric wheel spacers from Yita Motors. This is them --->( https://tinyurl.com/ydx8eex2 ) My question is what is a safe thread engagment on the wheel studs. Im getting between 6 and 8 turns. Is this safe? I will attach a picture. I'm aware of proper wheel troque on them and checking them and using red loctite. It just doesn't seem like a large enough bite on the threads.

Not an expert but I wouldn’t go with that. Wheel stud should be fully thru the nut plus IMHO.

Does any know if a different wheel spacer would do the same thing? Like a spider trax?

IDK about other spacers. I went with BORA only because SpiderTrax is limited to 1.25 inch. As to your question, the lug should fully seat into the lug nut as described by n1as above. My BORA spacers even had a few extra threads exposed all said and done.

What size BORA spacer did you go with? I wonder if the supplied nuts they provided are the problem.

I used 1 inch spacers on stock rims with 265/75/16. About 1/4 inch outside the fender. Just within the last month I removed the spacers to go with Fuel JM2 17 x 8.5 racing wheels, negative 6 offset with Ridge Grappler 265/70/17. Pushed out about 0.5 inches total now. Never had any issues with the BORA spacers. Just check your torque now and again - I tried to do that once a year at least after they settled in. EDIT - I guess make sure the spacer is actually spec'd for your truck. Should fit like a glove - no slop on the hub etc. I did not have to by extended lugs.

Shaman when you bought the 1in spacers did you have an issue where your wheels studs were sticking out past the wheel spacer? Did you have to cut wheel studs?

No, I didn't do any modification at all. Fit perfectly. The 1 inch spacer was flush with the end of the lug, otherwise I might have had to cut them. When I did the spacers I was a total newby so I was really cautious. Ran them for three years and never an issue except a one-time re-torque then couple of yearly checks when I rotated tires.

I can't really tell from the pic, but are the lug nuts tapered or flat ? Should be tapered IMO and seat deep into the adapter.

Yep, so you have the correct lug nut. Something definitely not fitting correctly then. The lug should go nearly all the way through. If the adapter isn't matched to the acorn lug nut there in lies the problem. You shouldn't have to modify anything on the hub, esp. the lugs. Doing that is counterintuitive to the purpose of the adapter itself. The only other thing I can think of is that the threads aren't matching. I would check the thread specs on the lugs (if they are stock you should be able to find it pretty easily) against the lug nuts that were sent before going any further. Easy check, try to thread one on without the adapter. If it goes, then I would believe it's the cut depth on the adapter.

yeah they are correct for the threads. When you meant cut depth do you mean the hole in the adapter the lug sits in?

Wait, I think I missed something. Are you using the stock Toyota lug nut on the hub ? - not sure I caught that earlier. I believe the new lug nuts should go with the adapter lugs when you put the wheel on.

Hmm. On the original post, that looks like a new nut which might be the problem. Try the stock nut on the stock hub, the new nuts with the adapter. Yeah, I was referencing the hole depth for seating the nut. This has got to be frustrating for you. I don't get it, it should fit. I was just looking at the adapter you bought.

Update: This is what the company that sold me said.

"7 turns is just fine, make sure you get 5-7 turns before tightening. and must be torqued down to Factory Specs."

I don't know it seems sketchy. I bought a longer nut from autozone i'm going to try this afternoon.

Is anyone else out there running this spacer?

Yeah I seen your post, but without the picture my brain couldn't pick up on it. What is that type of lug nut called?
