Bought a campershell for my 2015 4dr. It was used, and came with these Yakima mounts and crossbar.

Can these mounts and crossbars be moved to the roof of the cab?

Thanks for any info or tips yall

You have to add the same tracks to the cab it looks like I haven't researched it but it looks doable, sure.

Yes. Rhinorack makes tracks that are designed to fit the Tacoma's cab gutters. You may have to contact them to get the part number as they make them for the access cabs and the double cab as well as a lot of other applications. If you don't want to go that route you can mount Thule/Yakima/etc tracks on your cab however you choose.

Longer bars are a lot more practical in my experience if you should decide to add more to the cap.

Side note- if you have other Yakima accessories with lock cores you can send the non-matching ones to Yakima to have them replaced with cores that match your originals.

The Yakima (and Thule) rack systems are made up of the cross bars, towers, and base. What you need to change is the base in order move if from the track to fit your roof. If you go to the Yakima website (http://pit.yakima.com/) and enter your vehicle info it will outline what you need. Taking some liberties based on you profile it looks like you need the base clip 125 (front) and the base clip 128 (rear) to attach to the gutters and doors of the cab.

I’m not sure you got an answer to your question, but when I researched moving my Yak towers from my shell to the roof tracks, I would have to change the base adaptors. I never did it and don’t remember the part numbers, but the Rhinorack slots are different than the typical camper shell tracks. Towers and crossbars are fine.

You are talking about using the door clamps (clips), I was talking about adding tracks. Both methods will work but the clamps aren't very clean looking, mar the paint and can damage the door seals. If he wants to go with clamps you are correct although I think his current round bars may be too short. If he wants to add the Toyota factory rack there are adapters to add the cross bars. If he wants to add tracks then Rhinorack makes angles versions designed to match the contours. Looking at his pictures, he has the bars, towers and landing pads already. I'm not positive but I think all he needs is the square nuts that go in the track slots- Yakima calls them "anchor plates". Yakima uses nuts labeled "A" in their tracks but they make different sizes for other tracks- I think (but again I'm not sure) that you use plates "C" with Rhinoracks.

This is the tracks you should need for the double cab Tacoma. I would strongly suggest that you call Rack Outfitters and ask them what you need in order to make your current setup work.

These is a pdf on this page showing how to install them. They do require drilling.

If you've got a double cab you've already got holes in your roof, they're just covered by some waterproof stickers. The tracks come with butyl adhesive pads and some sort of adhesive pad on the bottom. It seems sort of like an NMO fitting which is common on lots of vehicles these days. Given Rhinoracks reputation and the volume of product they sell I'm guessing they have the process down pretty well but you could always add more sealant if you were worried about it.

I'd like to add a set to my access cab but I don't really need them right now.
