Roof got it bad too. Couldn't believe how easily the Bakflip was damaged though, especially for the price they make you pay.

Well, not sure what your deductible is but I would try to claim it all on the insurance. Definitely sux. Every time they call for hail at the house I run out there with my moving blankets and cover the truck. It's happened twice. Each time was a false alarm and I just wound up with wet blankets.

Question for anyone; Attempted to search and failed. :(

I still have yet to see my truck in person as I'm overseas and my wife picked it up for me, but I was watching a YouTube video of a 2017 PRO and he had what looked to be in the dash, on the small display, a little reference for the navigation and current speed limit for the road you're on. Like a small "turn 'left arrow' in so many feet with a image of the speed limit.

Does this apply to only Pros or is it on any package with the navigation? Just thought it was a cool feature and I have nothing better to do than to live vicariously through this site and YouTube until I get home and can be in my own truck!

    Thanks in advance. :)

If you wind up replacing the cover, go with the Bakflip MX, Gator FX, undercover flex, or stock. They are all plastic/fiber I believe the material is referred to as FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) it does not dent but they are also a bit more expensive than the aluminium ones. You may be able to use the rails that are already on your truck.

I have the Undercover flex. I like the cover. It does cover/block the track, coming from a 1st gen I did not feel I would miss them. The Bakflip does not cover the rails but does relocate them. OEM does not use the rails. I have no clue about the Gator FX, but I would guess it is either a rebranded Undercover or Bak cover.

    Good luck man!!

I have it in my Lmtd , it is part of the nav system.

It was the Bakflip MX... you'd shit yourself if you saw how bad it took it. It looks like someone took a screwdriver and went to town. I was surprised it damaged so easily.

Edit: I wouldn't say "easily" but easier than I would've thought.

Does anyone happen to have a OEM tail gate cap for a 3rd Gen Tacoma? It's the plastic cap pictured below. Looking to purchase one and have it shipped to me in Michigan! Hoping someones gone with the KB Voodoo one and wants to sell their OEM one.

    Damn.

I figured you had the base bakflip as it is my understanding it is aluminum. I assumed it would dent easily, may have even read reviews to that effect, so I went with the UC flex. I bought it on sale as it was cheaper than the MX, at least at that time.

I sold my stock running boards to a local guy that had the MX. The cover and latches looked like they were identical. So the UC may not be any more durable than the Bak.:notsure:

Such a bummer. Did your sheet metal get dimpled from the hail?

First, thanks for your service. Second, Bro! Having a new Truck at home just waiting for you and not losing your mind every second is some next level Zen shit there! Talk about control over your mind! Holy crap! I would need to be on tranquilizers! Good for you though. Loving family to come home to, and a new truck. Talk about being blessed.
