Let's See Some Softoppers

New to me Softopper. Window on the driver side is partially unzipped in the picture. Just need to give it a good cleaning and it'll be good to go!

Craigslist find 200$!!... I was all set to order one this week. Needless to say i was pretty pumped.

 

Just got it today and the Mrs helped put it on.

Damn I need to sell my jeep so I can get one of these. That damn rebuild title is making it harder to sell than I thought.

 

I was going to sell mine. I've been looking on CL every day for months trying to find a hard camper. Finally got to go do some mild off roading in Smoky Mountain National Park (gravel road) and the kids loved riding in it with the sides up so I'm keeping it!

Installed the Velcro and snaps to the front of the bed.

 

Still goin strong since I got the softopper in November.

 

Anyone looking to get rid of their 3rd Gen DCSB Softopper in the DE-MD area? Asking for a friend.

 

Hey guys, hoping you have some ideas. I'm trying to find a way to do a bow / stern tie-down in combination with the straps going over the kayaks attaching them to the cradle. The OEM roof rack "rocks" in its mounts and isn't very stable. I'm thinking this will be nice insurance to keep any rocking from ripping up the OEM rack.

Bow strap locations would be easy, basically just a ditch-light bracket.

In the rear I'm thinking of something that goes under the aluminum 1" square stock and comes out to the side, almost like a mount for a truck camper (last pick)

 

Honestly, with two straps on each they should be fine. If you feel you need something more, then a rope to the front of the truck and boats, then one from the back of the truck to the boats is the only way I see stopping the rocking.

 

I looked, but the price drove me away.

 

Just rec. notification that UPS dropped my softopper at the house. I have to install tonight for weekend adventures. Any install tips?

 

It's easier when it's been in the sun.

 

YouTube has an install on a tacoma. Pretty straight forward. I put the brackets more towards the cab so I didn’t have a huge gap between the softopper and rear window.

 

Thanks for the tips! Installed with the help of my 7yo assistant. Will do seam sealer tomorrow after work.
