lol, well they trusted dana corp with making the frames and they fucked up.

also to the OP, when buying a used car, you always need to check it out.

To the OP, due to how large the size of the hole is now per the picture you posted, can you verify there was a hole there when the frame was sprayed two years ago? If they sprayed over a hole essentially that large then there is some gross negligence going on at the dealership that performed the inspection and spray for you. There is no way that "no hole" went to one the size you can put your hand through in just two years.

I say this as I discovered about a dime to quarter size hole originally on the drivers side frame by the cat. about 1.5 to 2 years before the "campaign" was started in the US and it did not get much bigger in the approx. 2 year time frame for when it was inspected. So when I brought it in for inspection during the campaign I already knew the hole size was large enough for them to determine it needed to have the frame replaced, which is what happened, got a new frame.

Sorry but you ARE being whiny. There are resolutions in place in both countries. Also being a part of the suit in both countries is fraud. Choose one or the other but two payouts will land you in prison.

Why are you unloading all this crap into this thread?
You can buy an F150 for under $1500.
You can sell the engine and transmission from your Tacoma TODAY for more than that.
This isn't killing you financially, this isn't going to cost you your house, this has no major impact on your family, sucks that your kid has a sugar problem, but that has nothing to do with Toyota or your rust hole.

While you CLAIM to have done your due diligence, and "babied" the truck, YOU'VE OWNED IT FOR 8 YEARS, and IT IS 12 YEARS OLD! Do you think that GM or Ford would do anything for you? HELL NO.

And wait, there's more... you claim to need it for pulling your WORK TRAILER, yet didn't this whole thing come to light because you were trying to sell it?

I'm in Penticton. Was down in Van for the last 20 but moved back home. Yeah I imagine even if they do give the green light I'll be waiting a very long time. Hopefully my frame doesn't break in the meantime. It would be very bad for Toyota and me if that happened. It seems as though Toyota is making up the rules as they want these days concerning this frame recall from what I've read. Vicali how is your truck since the new frame? Everything good?

Lol. I'm being whiny heh? Easy troll. And as far as the class actions neither Toyota Canada or Toyota USA knows where my truck is valid for this settlement. As far as a ford, fuck that. And yeah I was gonna sell my truck to buy a tundra. Now my truck is a fucking lawn ornament! Frankly I don't give a flat fuck what the "big 3" would do because I'd never buy their shit. I bought a Yota for the reliability and longevity.

OP, the US class action suit is farthest along I suggest you contact them directly through that website BEFORE it is settled and ask what class you fall into and what your options are. You will never get a straight answer out of Toyota.

Lawyers in the family are on it. Signed up for American settlement. That being said I'll likely need to cross the border, leave my truck, fly home, and be out a truck(which I need for work). I just can't understand how the local Toyota could diagnose and CRC my frame(miss a 3 inch hole), and then tell me their hands are tied when the truck is re-assessed. That hole was there and they missed it. We don't get a lot of salt here and the trucks only had 15,000 kms put on it since the CRC was applied. From what the Toyota tech told me he was unsure whether the truck had even had the CRC applied. At the moment my dilemma is that neither Toyota Canada or Toyota US is giving me a straight answer as to where my truck stands. My circumstance can't be unique. There has to others who've imported tacomas and this same issue has arisen

Again you will not get a straight answer out of Toyota. Ask the plaintiff's attorneys for the US suit directly. There is contact info on their website to call or e-mail. I think you want to get this done BEFORE the settlement is approved and certainly before you opt in or out of any other scenarios.

His last posts were in Jan/Feb of 2018 buying 2005 TRD Neoprene seat covers.. guessing he still has the truck. Would love to know if he got the frame resolved!
