I'm looking at pictures which is all I really have to go off of, but the angles and shape don't seem far off on the rear bumpers. I'd imagine it's a no to do a straight bolt on, but does anyone have any input?

I believe they fit..... it just looks like a kid wearing pants that are one or two sizes to big and putting a 2nd gen on a 3rd gen looks a tad small.
Are we talking about the rear oem plastic bumper or aftermarket steel bumper??

Would be OEM. It does look slightly bigger and I'm trying to find measurements on them but not much luck. Your comparison makes sense though.

I dented the corner on mine (2013) and am having a hard time finding a replacement without going new. I may try banging the dent out, but I found one off a 2016 for cheap.

The new ones are complete plastic, stay away from the 3rd gen oem bumper. Go with another 2nd gen oem bumper or go aftermarket.

Cheap doesn't even begin to describe the rear bumper of a 3rd gen tacoma. There are a few vendors for our friends in the far north. Check the regional section for the local Canadian threads.

Why? Why would anyone want to?

3rd Gen bumpers are plastic and... they look weird (like the 3rd Gen).

Can you post a picture of the dent?

PDR can do wonders, but have a pro do it. Don’t just take a hammer to the inside of the bumper.

If the dent is so bad it has resulted in stretching the metal and/or cracking the paint its probably cheaper to just go with a nice steel or aluminum bumper.

    It's a big one.

I actually lucked out and found a color matched bumper for sale out of province. Guy happened to have a friend driving to my city the same day. Good thing too because the bottom edge of mine was flaking pretty bad. I may look at getting the dent out to sell it because I don't think the steel is bent, but the whole bumper is definitely pushed in on that corner and it pulled it away on the other side a bit.

If its tweaked honestly dont bother nobody will want a messed up resr bumper if they are trying to fo and OEM piece together such as you are. Toss it or hold onto it for a later time incase this one gets rocked too.

Yeah won't know until I get it off. If it's a paint fix it'll probably go for cheap. These are never in any of our parts yards and it's pretty hard to source out anything here without buying new. Some guy had a dented tailgate up for $100 and managed to sell it.

That doesn’t look horrible. Doesn’t seem like any of the metal is stretched.

Glad you got a new bumper.

Its probably going to cost you as much to get it fixed with PDR as it would be to sell it but you never know.
My guy would prollh charge about $200 for that.

You are right and might actually be able to unload it dented. Some people have the ability to fix it themselves so they won’t mind the dent.
