    Hello,

I recently asked around if anyone knows what was going on with my truck, that was making a strange noise. After i lifted my taco on the lift, i looked at my brake shield everything was good. then I spun the front passenger wheel and the noise was back. So i took off the wheel and the hub dust cap, and found this: https://youtu.be/MQi2fNZMgrE

It made me feel stupid when i opened the hub dust cap.

I had a mystery clunk several years ago that was driving my insane. it was a clunk on acceleration. Went through everything from driveshaft (swapped a friend's), ball joints, control arm bushings, etc...

I futzed with it on and off for about a year before finally taking it to a shop.

Turns out my K&N "cold air" intake was hitting the heat shield. The clamp that holds the filter to the intake tube would get stuck on the hole in the heat shield, and "clunk" as the motor moved under torque.

    :anonymous:

At least it took the guys at the shop several days to figure it out, too. They had to deal with an embarrassingly simple problem that I no doubt created the last time I took the filter off to clean it, lol. I came back with a case of beer for those guys.

I was under the truck looking everything, and everything was in place. Then I spun the passenger wheel, cuz I was just like what let that sound be there I will get used to it. And then bam the sound is bad. So I decided to take of the wheel and hud bust cap and bam there it is. I felt so stupid. But at least it is nothing serious.
