It would be on the service records with Toyota. Probably not carfax since it wasn’t an accident

Sounds like the door wasn’t stamped exactly right but the door made it through QC.

I would take the new truck if that’s what they are offering

They are still negotiating the specifics with Toyota. The dealer knows me from previous Toyota’s and knows how well taken care of my trucks are. They are wanting to make some $$ on the back end rather than me claiming lemon law..

Nah man, just told you that so you won’t take that option of having the doors replaced.
Because he can tell you’re Uber picky, and he’s going to be married to you once he paints 2 doors and a fender.
This happens all the time at the dealer, departaments trying to pass along their problem child customers to other departments.

I was having a wind noise issue on my drivers side door. Toyota changed the door seal and it did not go away. I ended up putting on weathertech in channel window visors and the noise went away. Maybe give those a shot if you like the look of them.

How bad is this air noise? I can hear air on my driver side but chalked it up to cheap plastic parts just the normal etc etc...it doesn't drown out music or anything either so I just ignore it.

Oh wow ok ya...I would not be able to ignore that. Now with the door replacement...I personally don't think it would impact resale since its almost a factory recall thing vs. damage from an accident and we know how these trucks hold their value. As a buyer I would be happy to hear that you fixed something earlier on in the trucks life. Just my 2 cents I wish you luck sir!

I am less concerned with resale but rather with the paint quality. I opened up a case with Toyota on Monday per the dealership's recommendation

Yep selling! Very disappointed in Toyota. They blamed the window tint on the problem which was tinted at the dealer but want me to spend my money to throw parts that may fix the problem.
