Perfect. Does the orientation matter on what way the fuse is plugged into the fuse tap?

    for you electrical gurus.

I'm going to be installing some after market heated seats pads under seat covers. where should I be plugging these into the fuse box? Am I going to need an add a circuit?

these are the ones I'm putting in upload_2017-10-21_22-8-2.jpg

I think I'd power them through a relay, maybe two. Then switch power can come from a fuse tap and only draw minimal power to activate the relay(s). Otherwise you'd be pulling the extra 2-4 amps through an already loaded circuit.

I used two “add a fuse”s here for my Switch Pro and have just left the cover off. You could use a utility knife to cut a notch out I guess but I haven’t had time to. This is an option too: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/custom-fuse-cover-extended-height.519448/

OK frustrated here... was swapping out map lights for LEDs.

I didn't realize I could just drop the whole upper console just by pulling it down.
Duh... so I tried to remove the bulbs by pulling them out. Well 1 went fine, replaced it with the LED - works.. go to do the passenger side and bam the bulb explodes in my face.. all good had my glasses on.

What a freakin PITA to get the base of the bulb out. Pried it out with small screw driver.

Maybe not the best idea. Anyway... then realized (google) I could just pull the console down and have access to the bulb from the rear the way it's designed to be accessed.

Ok easy enough, twist out the bulb socket and be sure no more glass in there.

Well now my LED wont light.. tested it with a DMM ... nada with Diode test and testing resistance both directions OL, so its dead Jim. Ok so I'll just put the glass bulb back in,
now that doesn't work either. Test bulb and bulb is OK get a resistance reading.

So now I have a drivers side map light, and the dome light working but passenger map light in-op.

Likely a fuse...would they make a different fuse for each map light?? I guess they did and sooo does anyone have a clue to which fuse to check??

The cryptic descriptions are about useless... checked owners manual and didn't see anything on descriptions... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both map lights should be on the same circuit . Did a wire get damaged during install?

Not sure how I would have done anything to the wiring. I just pulled the bulb down and broke it then pulled the remaining glass out of the holder.

I'll have to take it apart again and look. Basically there's not any wires it's a PCB the bulb socket plugs into.. so no wires. I tested the bulb holder with a good bulb in for resistance and it tests good. There's plenty of tracing on the PCB. The switch to turn on the bulb is spring loaded and seems to be ok. When you push the light up and the light turns one. Not sure how I would test it.. I'll have to take another look at the spring switch. The spring switch is over ridden by the all on switch and no love.

Does the clear plastic bulb cover have a molded actuator that depresses a switch when you push it?

Yes.. it has the actuator on it so you push it in and it turns the light on push it again and it turns off. Spring loaded ... on off.

Hey folks, reviving this in hopes of some answers. Just ordered new leather upholstery for my '17 Double Cab, non heated seats. With the kit, I ordered a seat of heaters and I'm curious if the slot labeled "S/HTR" with a 20A fuse is the factory seat heater slot. Am I correct with the location? I assume this is a keyed power source. Also correct?
