My wife and I just purchased a 2018 Tacoma TRD PRO and even though we don't plan on putting a lot of rough stuff in the bed we would like to protect the floor.
Would something like "Rhino lining" stick to the bed? Or would a bed mat work just as good.
Would also like to protect the inside of the tailgate. Any suggestions.
Our last truck we purchased new in 2002 and kept it for 16 years, plans are the same for this one so we want to treat it good and take care of the bed!!
    Thanks

I put an OEM bed mat down in mine, works awesome and keeps stuff from sliding around back there.

Same here. OEM bed mat is a must have. I don't know of anything to protect the tailgate other than a bed divider like this. It mounts to the rails and slides to wherever you want it. It's upside down in the picture. It mounts the other way up.

+5 on the bed mat. It's the most appreciated 'mod' I've done to my truck. I got sick and tired of things sliding around in there around day 3 of owning my truck. I wasn't as worried about scuffing it up as I am about things sliding.

I've heard rhino lining/bed lining our beds isn't a great idea or is more of a PITA than it's worth. I paid around $100 from the dealer, totally worth it.

ETA: Mobtown makes a tailgate reinforcement plate, might be what you're looking for.

Rhino line a plastic bed? First weekend with mine i filled it with garbage. I threw in all kinds of boards with nails, metal and really abused the hell out of it. That plastic they use in the bed is pretty damn tough.

I do want to get an oem mat though, as the bare bed is slippery as fuck.

I think I paid like $90 on Amazon for the OEM mat, about 5 minutes total work for me to buy it, take out of the plastic it shipped in and roll it out.

You'll still spend $40 on a stall mat, then you gotta take your time cutting it so it doesn't look like crap. Plus the Toyota one only weighs 30-40lbs, much easier to take out so you can hose the bed out.

Bed Rug. I don't carry a lot of stuff with hard edges that might not work well with this. For my needs its perfect.

Local Tractor Supply has stall mats for $40. I'd personally go that route if I were looking for a mat.

But, really, we're talking about keep a truck bed nice and pretty? A TRUCK bed? This is the whole reason why I got a truck. To throw crap back there and not care about scuffs and scratches. The only reason I'd get a rubber mat is to keep things from sliding around. But me, personally, I load my bikes and some heavier equipment. I LIKE that I can slide them around. I've also attached extra tie down points to keep them secure.

That is about what I paid for mine on Amazon. You can find in cheaper online but shipping gets crazy. I used prime and it got her very quick in great shape.

That OEM bed mat is probably the best OEM accessory Toyota makes. Stops stuff from sliding everywhere and makes your knees not hate you
