Also while I was doing my Homer grill my taillights showed up. I was wanting to open up my old & broken (one LED is out as you can see) tails for practice, then open these up to smoke the red reflectors, but they aren't really bothering me now that they're on the truck. Plus opening the tails seems like quite a bit of work considering they need to be cut open.

Not bad for about 115 shipped! Came with all brand new bulbs too but I will be switching everything over to LED this week I hope anyway.

Thanks man! Will have some real pictures soon - just about done with the cosmetic mods then I'll be waxing this and the supra up for some shots by a buddy of mine who's a self employed photographer. He's got some sweet setups.

Hehe, the lights are already here! I saw this post of yours and saved it. I'm still deciding whether I want to do a clear lens or not on this. Going to pop the LEDs I have in, see how it looks, then go from there.

FINALLY fixed my LED hyperblink issue. I had the fronts in but the rears I left incandescent because the shunt-mod didn't work well enough for me.

I ended up soldering in some https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/bourns-inc/3059Y-1-103LF/3059Y-103LF-ND/1087683 in place of the shunts and they allowed me to dial in the resistance perfectly. I also retain the light-out indication this way. More details here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/12-pin-dtrl-led-flasher-modification-2012-tacoma.244028/page-3

I got my X-Runner X Brace mounted up last week. Pics coming soon. I had a basic mounting idea fabbed up at an offroad shop but want to go back and have him change the mounts a bit to look a bit more 'oem'.

Anyway - for anybody ever looking to put an X Brace on a prerunner, there's a few things you have to do. First off at least my truck came with the oem tow hitch (not sure if thats the year, prerunner, TRD Sport, or what determines that) but the hitch is welded to the dang bumper brackets as well so when I unbolted everything my entire bumper came off!

Need to go get base model bumper brackets from the dealer they were 70 bucks/side and then re-attach my bumper. I'm happy though cause it's a cleaner look anyway.

The X Brace will bolt right up to the same holes on the bumper side. If you bolt up those two holes the two other mounting points will be positioned directly below the leaf spring bulkhead by 1.5" almost exactly. There is a hole there but it's not threaded I think it's just for water drainage. This is where I had a shop weld a nut inside a 1.5" steel pipe and then weld that to the bulkhead so that a bolt could go up through the X Brace and attach it to the truck.

The X-Runners have a small extension on the bulkhead in this place to achieve the same purpose seen here: [IMG]

Some good ideas here. Where did you find the x-brace? I made one myself but I can't weld, so it's all bolted together. I'm pretty sure it's not doing anything except look good from the back.

Haha honestly I didn't feel any improvement. I figure the huge steel tow hitch bracket was providing even more structural support than this, but yeah it looks great from the back I need to get some pictures soon. Been slacking trying to sell my other car.

Found the x brace from another member on XR-Underground forums. Took quite a while to find someone with one. You can get them new from the dealers still though.
