I'm looking for ideas on where to mount my Prodigy P3 brake controller. Does anyone have any good recommendations or care to share where they mounted there brake controller in a 2nd Gen?

I guess while I am at it is there a good way to test that the brake controller is installed properly without the trailer? I'm going plug and play with the tow package but would like to know it's all in good shape before I pick up my camper this weekend.

    Thanks in advance Nomad

Not a whole lot of places to mount them but here is what I didIMG_0181.jpg IMG_0183.jpg I made bracket out of aluminum then put a small block of a spongey type of material just to prevent any bounce which was minimal. This is just to the right where the change pocket was at.

Not the P3, but I didn’t want to drill any holes or do anything permanent. I just used high grade velcro and it’s held up a year+.

I like that. Did you need to drill a hole to run the wire up there? I was thinking about putting mine in that spot but just screwing the mounting bracket to the upper part of that space.

Didn't drill any holes. Pressed a small cardboard square into the area then traced it out on aluminum. Bolted it into the area with small bolts. Cut a square hole in the back of the aluminum for the plug and it works great. I can take it out and you never know it was there

I love the velco idea. I tow like 2 times a year for 3 hours each time. So I don't want it there all the time. I so need a controller, but haven't done it yet.

I like the velcro idea as well. I am going to give it a try first and see how it works out.

Here is where I ended up putting mine for now. I'm use automotive velcro. I also found a trailer emulator so I could test my install without having a trailer handy. I think this may work but I am going to see how it holds on some tough roads the next few days.

So far I haven't. But if I do I will be moving it to another location. I like the flexibility of the velcro for finding this a good home.

Got to use it this weekend and everything went as planned. I think it is going to stay there on the right hand side attached to the change tray

A little late to the party,

I mounted mine (a P2) in the coin holder

    upload_2018-6-28_16-7-25.jpg

I made a bracket out of aluminum flat bar. I notched the coin holder to allow easy access to the manual brake lever on the bottom of the controller.

I have more detailed pictures and descriptions in my build thread, page 2.
