Here she sits as of spring 2019...

I had a 2008 for ten years... Just sold it and upgraded to a 2018. Wife wants a proper back seat for the kiddos so here we are wasting money but i'm totally ok with it!

    Here is the start

Said my goodbyes to some lucky dude in Colorado. Gave him an epic deal!

Then walked into the stealership with a pocket full of cash. They put this in my face as it was pulled off the shipping truck. It had just arrived that morning.

So I pulled the trigger like a smuck and took her home...

Within the first week I had her off road and testing out the new features!

Then the wife hit me with the horrible truth... She won't sleep on the ground so I had to get the tent installed ASAP. So I Built a rack. Made some tabs to drill through later for mounting a shovel, axe or high lift or whatever the fuck down the road. Not super pretty but I don't care it works.

Painted them up and should install tomorrow! (72 hour cure time on the sealant!)

    Tent installed.

Had to get the windows tinted 20% all around.

Did the OME lift with 887’s and Dakar’s. I think they ride smoother than my old Icon setup.

    Installed lift

    Fuck I love it

275/70R17 KO2’s on SCS 17x8.5 In gun metal matte grey. Fuck it’s awesome.

Installed some racing stripes because why not...

Picked up an almost new pair of CBI Offroad sliders with filler plates. Killer deal off craigslist.

Figured the stereo needed a little boost so I changed out the speakers and put budget dynamat on all my doors.

    F1C4872C-38CD-4D62-926C-ADFD152FFC05.jpg

Went full bro and got my first ever light bar.

The short bed is a little small so I figured I might as well add a Prinsu roof rack. I REALLY like this thing. I can’t believe it took me this long to get one.

Can't fit car seats in the access cab. Plus its time to do the build right. This will be a 20 year truck

I got bad news for you bud... You can barely fit car seats in the double cab, hope you have short legs.

Beer. Lots and lots of beer. And lots of logging roads fully loaded at high speed giving 0fucks about potholes. Two more full coolers in the back. Something like 210beers plus tent plus awning plus ice plus camping shit plus a passenger.

Trying to break the springs under warranty.

Decided against the Icon lift... Just bought the OME lift with 887 coils and standard Dakars with Wheelers Super Bumps. I know not super bad ass but fuck it lets try something different this time... Heading to Yellowstone end of month so I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to try it out!

I spend a lot of time in Australia for work and they swear by OME. So I think i'll give it a try.

Good luck on the new build. I'm about to have some people do a lot of work to my truck while I'm deployed. Really would like to do it all myself but I think Id rather go off-roading and enjoy my time with family when I get home from deployment instead of tearing apart my rig. Funny how when I got my Taco, it had basically just come off the trailer. Was sitting in the back waiting to be thrown together and put into presentable shape in the parking lot. Was like it was a sign to get rid of my waste of money Cross Trek and upgrade to a real off-roading platform.
