    Hey guys,

Total newbie here. I just bought a 2005 Tacoma Sport and would like to install an exhaust or muffler depending on what will be best. I'd like to have something that will give more of a presence than the current stalk, but not too much because I often come home late from work and don't want to wake people up. I really dig the lower rumble more than others I've listened to. What do you recommend?

Mbrp, borla, flowmaster, magnaflow, it doesn't matter its v6 never going to be loud. Or give you any gains. I have a mbrp and its quiet on start up and cruising but sounds good on launch and maximum fuel wasting

Go to muffler shop, tell em what u want for sound. Ask if they would be able to suggest 3 or 4 mufflers and be able to let u start the truck up after each one is clamped on and throw a rev/manipulate the rpm. Choose the 1 that u like the sound of best, with no relation to the brand.... have it welded on.

Theres zero need for a catback unless yours is rusted thru, or you are pushing real power thru the truck via turbo, blower, or a v8 swap. The stock size tubing is adequate sized and mandrel bent already.

For a deeper sound, ur prolly gunna want a flowmaster or a knockoff, borla, or black widow.

From personal experience, magnaflow hasnt been throaty when i tried them.

I wonder if a bosal muffler of the same size would yield same exact sound, for far less cost.

Flowmaster Super 10. Single in dual out. Pretty aggressive sounding muffler but I think extra piping kinda mitigates the obnoxiousness and I never had any drone.

So I have Flowmaster I don't know what type though. But I also have single electric cut out. Sound awesome when the cutout is open. But when shut has a deeper but quite tone to not wake people up.

I ran into this muffler pretty much the same way you did, someone on here said he liked his so I checked it out and like you said, the price was right so I went for it. I have been running it for about 2 1/2 years and like it just fine.
