Lol sorry I wasnt thinking you could mean that when you said just in front of the transfer case - it's at the complete other end of the transmission

In other news I think I'm possibly in big trouble - the write up here makes it look like my slave cylinder is already completely compressed meaning my clutch fork isn't moving far back enough compared to how it did when my old transmission was in my truck.

oh... there’s no front transfer case? my bad, how about front diff opposite end of the transmission from the transfer case?

reading the reservoir up front... guess I could drain and run (or push through) new brake fluid through there.... if I’ve changed all my other fluids. I see the fluid it quite dark. wrongly assumed it was part of the brakes, but now see it’s the clutch.

 

Yeah my bad I gotchya now - it would be good to get rid of that old fluid

 

2 of 3 missing “rear engine support mount” bolts replaced. Can’t get the 1 out... gonna wait until I do the front driveshaft universals to get some space to use a breaker bar. Jacked up under the transfer case guard w/ a block of wood and loosened the 4 12mm bolts below to add some wiggle room, just can’t move the other side with the 1 cinched on hard to get the bolt in. Confirmed - 14mm flange head 10mm x 1.25mm x 25mm are an “exact” replacement at $1.50 each at a hardware store.

 

replaced the threaded eye-bolt on the proportioning valve diff mount.... couldn’t get the 3/4” collar nut unseized, so cut and bought SS 5/16 x 4” eye-bolt & nylon lockers. Not using the extender so many of you have added for your lifts, so stowed it for safe keeping in place. With the original & without the extender I was still sitting at 100% up on the PV without even the truckbed on. Just had to open up the eye a bit. Will adjust depending on how the truck brakes now.

 

Got under the truck to try and find the massive clunk that happens when I let off the gas and found this. Not the culprit but one more thing that needs fixed. She blown..

 

Pulled my rear differential to take it down to Zuk to get re-geared to 4:88 this weekend.

 

Got off the phone w/ Clutch Masters & LCE about my slave cylinder not going back on and matching up with the bolt holes in the bell housing. There's about a 1/4" less of a gap than there needs to be between the throw out bearing and the fingers of the pressure plate (also between the slave and the clutch fork) for the bolt holes to line up. I opened the cylinder bleeder valve and compressed it as much as possible - not sure if it will help, but I ordered a new slave cylinder - that was their suggestion too. Took some video to see if there's anything awry inside:

 

Did you put your clutch plate in backwards?

 

I don't think so - I asked that to Clutch Masters and they said it wouldn't matter in this situation...

 

Looks good, swap out those brake hoses while you’re at it.

 

So far no one has gone in a rant about the ball joint post.

I get my ideas from using my truck, and then realize my wallet says I literally can’t.

 

i havent had the time to use my truck for offroading lately. but i'll find something i want to do look up the price and go "eh its only money" then reality slaps me A.K.A the GF lol she's such a bummer
