 I use one of his new hammocks. (Not on the website yet)
And he is a great guy, too.

I have been looking at that place this year. Seems to be worth the drive.
I use my Trangia a LOT. I just got an old style (1990s) Duossal (SS & AL clad). Fried an egg white omelette this morning at Mammoth Caves Ky. Excellent.
I also add a little water in the kettle for clean up, and set it to simmer, while I eat.
As many stoves as I have, I do not bring a Coleman 2 burner any more. I usually bring 6-8 stoves with me.
This time I had a Sigg Tourist SS/ Old style Svea 123, MSR Windboiler (Not Windburner), MSR Reactor, Biolite I & Biolite II, Heinze/Geniol Dieselkocher, Trangia 25 Duossal.
I used the Biolite grill for the grandkids hot dogs one night. Surprisingly Incredible.

    (Edit as I write this:
I now see that I may have put the curved tube on backwards.
The top photo indicated to me how to put it on.
I just saw the bottom photo. I think it goes on like the bottom photo. DOH!!
Now I know who to blame.)

Any one else use one of these?
Any one else have the curved tube split?
Now the tube flies off when pumping water.
(I know, I can wrap it with wire to fix it, I did that.)

In practice I like this product. It is much easier than the spigot.
I keep a large plastic juice bottle full of water for immediate use.
    32 oz in 4-5 pumps.

    I do really like it.
    In camp:
I take the cap off, remove the spigot and add the pump.
    Leaving camp or storage:
I remove the pump, remove the cap, put spigot on the INSIDE of the cap, replace the cap. Tank is now sealed and no parts exposed for 'bumping'.

Cannot say enough good words about SnowPeak products. Carry their titanium solo kit with me for so many years.. Have couple of their mugs and some other titanium cookware. Worth every penny. Lost my flask and missing it badly..

Never actually tried their other things hough, like furniture or tents, just the mugs and pots.

For mountain bums like myself, here is some porn from my last trip. Wondering if someone is going to recognize this mountain :)

Probably not the most common view of it - Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce on the photo above Her Majesty Annapurna (26545 feet or 8091 meter) as it seen from the base camp located at 13550 feet or 4150 meters :)

And after the heroic actions by him on Everest I was shocked and saddened. I liked his book The Climb.
He went up to help when others would not, or could not as they like to say.
He also prepared himself physically by, what he called, "Going back down to green", after the acclimatization phase.. (Paraphrase)

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Pretty stoked... Been shopping for some new backpacking gear. The wife and I decided we want to do more backpack hunting. We want to get out a little further to look for those real monsters.

Scored a Big Agnes double bag for less than half the shelf price. Recieved it... doesn't look like it's ever been out of the stuff bag.

Then I found an REI Quarter dome on Facebook market place for less than half the shelf price ($145)... looks to have never been used either.

The Quarter Dome is definately not an "ultra lite" tent (just over 5 lbs) but it has great head room and large vestibles for all the gear we hunters have to drag around that backpackers don't have to worry about... rifles, spotting scopes, game sleds, etc.

I have a partner stove, although it's nice, it is WAY overpriced for what it is, requires special fittings for the hand fabricated gas connections which violates rule number one for camping supplies IMO. So if you need a gas line your only source is them. If you want a fitting, you're out of luck, even specialty gas stores wont touch it (i wanted a 90 degree elbow).

A Coleman or an old multi fuel Coleman swapped to propane would've been just as nice and kept a significant amount of money in my pocket.

Its garage sale season. Go pick up a Coleman for $20 and don't look back. I think I've had mine almost three decades. Sure, dialing in the knobs is a little bit of an art form but there are never leftovers.

    No...they are.

They are a special thread size/type (they did find something that was close to the correct thread type in the shop but it wasn't perfect) and there is a piece that is soldered inside to depress the valve on the gas line. I talked to Partner Stove when I first got mine and they said "Its not a good design but that's how we've always done it".

I went by a custom gas place and they said a whole lot of nope. They said they could do it but it would cost quite a bit due to the amount of work it would take for that silly fitting.

I remembered someone having those issues with their Partner Steel, it was you!

My $42 Coleman has still been okay. Especially since you can get parts at Walmart if you have to (I haven't had to).
