I've been waiting to see if something like this goes on sale, good for bad weather and mozzie season. Right now I just tie up my hammock rain fly off my basket to a tree to give shade/shelter. Damn mozzies still get ya though.

They are super easy, nice that that can be bunched up to allow access to cabinets from the windoors. I just took bungee cords and snipped the hooks off then took adjustable metal hose clamps and clamped a nail i bent into a hook with a vice onto either end. Drilled small holes into the top of the window frame for the nails to hook into. the bottom of the curtain is sewn into a loop and I just took a piece of skinny PVC to keep it weighed down and it fits snug between the cabinets and the truck bed wall. You could just use bungee on the bottom though.

Very cool and nice wy to add headroom, but do you have a drop down soft side curtain or something? Looks buggy....

What exactly is this a solution to? Inadequate airflow?

My previous setup didn't provide clearance for the lift actuators and I was able to add channels for future drawers.

Are they double acting cylinders, to hold the cap down while they're in the retracted position, or do you have to clamp/unclamp every time?

No clamping needed, they are wired into the battery and go up electronically. they also clamp down on their own when completely lowered, so just press the button and go. its the TopperEZLift system.

Agreed. I think Canadian company Napier makes one. With my drawer pulled out i use it for a kitchen counter and cook of it. I'm worried I wouldn' be able to pull it out fully considering it's 5ft.

I did something similar to this also, I used a reflective emergency blanket (basically tinfoil) cut to the shape of the windows, and then used adhesive velcro strips along the edges. My cap is carpeted inside and the velcro sticks right to it. The emergency blanket is super light too so velcro had no problem gripping on. It didn't look too classy as the blanket was reflective one side, and bright orange on the other but it worked great. The bonus of this was it blocked out so much light, made it great for sleeping.

I've been thinking of finding a light weight fabric and basically getting the foil sewed into the fabric so it looks better and still have the light blocking capability of the emergency blanket.

That was my theory too for using the reflective stuff it would cut a tad bit of noise out and black out my truck. Like yours also mine is carpeted so was thinking the same thing put Velcro on it then when i didn't want them up take them off and slide then under my bed. I do like the idea of putting a thin design on it, would it block the sun out the same? As far as temperature wise

    Curtains.
We used 'blackout material', from a fabric store, and Velcro to adhere to the carpet lining.

    Note:
Be careful pulling Velcro off of the carpet lining ... sometimes the adhesive, applied by the Mfgr, ARE in my case, is 'GROSSLY INADEQUATE' and the lining starts to pull away.

You mean drilling into the fiberglass? Mask it off and use new or sharpened bits. Start small and switch to larger bits to help avoid chipping. Go slow, keep the bit perpendicular to the surface and don't apply any real pressure but allow the bit to do all the work. Having someone hold a vacuum near the bit helps keep the dust from going everywhere. If/when drilling through into the interior a drill stop is handy to help keep the bit from grabbing and twisting the liner material if you have any.
