Went backpacking thru the area last Sunday. They have only been busy for a week. Met workers Monday morning, saying they would be done in two more weeks, so maybe the road and CG will be open soon. I bought a new tablet, but need a micro sd card to get it to take photo downloads evidently, computer guy has my old tablet with a sd card. I took a few pics of the piece they are placing in the holes they dug. Maybe I can get a pic posted in a few days. No one on the lake fishing that morning.

Well, cant post a pic, slapped my old tablet and the new one won't let me download photos from my camera. Road should be open by now, was thinking of camping in the regular CG, but stayed close to home.

Found out about this closure the hard way last weekend. Drove up to find the road closed off. Was able to backtrack down gold highway and "snag" one of the free spots at Snag Lake. Was not my first choice, but turned out to be a good weekend. I have been coming to this area for the last 12 years and It's pretty crazy how popular it has become. I guess camping in general is just becoming a lot more popular. Might try to get out at the end of the season when the sites are open again.

Not enough to have a build thread.
I thought it was supposed to be open by now. Or am I getting my dates confused?

If anyone wants to go, I've never been here and am down as a clown to check it out.

Love Gold Lake. Friend told me about the closure so I didn’t even attempt to head up there this year. Might call soon and try and get a late season camping trip going...

It reopened mid last week, a few days early. Spent Friday and Saturday night at the lake.

By Saturday night I'd say 10 of the 16 signed spots were taken.

Here's what went in, got my new tablet and old camera figurated out. I was at Lake Davis last week, hardly anyone out the few days after Labor Day. Nice not working anymore. :)

Camping last couple nights along the lake at the regular CG. Went for a hike Thursday morning, visited with a guy who was holding down two sites in the OHV CG, waiting for some friends. On my way back a few hours later, he said the FS had come by and locked up all the toliets in the OHV CG, they weren't working properly, something about when cleaning them, too much water is being introduced into the toliet, guess the solar drivers can't handle it. So per the signs, closed due to maintenance issues. Oh, one more thing, they seem to stink worse than old pit toliets. Cross between cow shit and people shit. The CG isn't closed, but back to packing out your waste.
