We had two GSD girls for 12 yrs. Reese (short haired) was adopted when she was appx 2 and Jojo (long haired) has been with us since she was 8 weeks old. They have had few fights when they were younger to determine who the alpha was but after that, they were best sisters.

After 12yrs, we had to put Reese down due to her old age, seizures and normal GSD issues that every owner faces. Worst experience ever to go through that!

Jojo is now 10yr seemed to be very heart broken and not lively as we quickly discovered. Since we don't have kids, these dogs are our kids and filll our lives with happiness and joy.

We brought home today what we think is a 3month old Heinz 57 from the rescue and wanting to determine what we should name him! Family/Friends have suggested few names and we have the top three: Axel, Max or Yoda (I like Yoda) but got eyes rolled by the wifey when I mentioned that

Few pictures to share of our babies....Reese, Jojo and the new boy. Hopefully I did the voting option correctly.

Sorry for your loss. We've gone through that a few times now (just had to put both of our dogs down last year at the same time) and it doesn't get any easier.

    Rest easy Reese.

As for naming the new addition, I think of the three names you listed Yoda seems the most fitting but the WAF may not be there from what you're saying. Might need to have a serious sit-down to determine what you both like for the little pupper. Cool looking dog for sure though & kudos for rescuing/adopting instead of "buying" like so many people still do.

Sorry to hear about your dogs, its never easy and it definitely changes you as a person. Especially for me since I tend to get over anxious in general and having a dog really helped me.

Sorry to hear she was beautiful. I was an only child and my mom worked second shift so shed get home later In the evenings. I got my German Shepherd when I was 9 and had him until about 20. He was a great dog and friend. It was almost 20 years ago and I still think about him most days. He kept me out of a lot of trouble and kept me safe. I personally think o e of the best things to do is get another dog. It helps fill that emptiness .
