This reminds me I need to start practicing with broadheads.

I finally got a target to use in my back yard (I live in the city) to practice on form. I know a lot of you guys live out and the country and can just walk out your door and practice, I'm jealous. Even though it's just form practice it will help me. I think form is my biggest problem right now and until I master that I will never have the consistency I am after.

Was also cool to have my Doberman Fletcher hanging out with me back there when I shoot. He hate's guns for obvious reasons, but he doesn't mind bows. He's about the only person in my household that likes to shoot with me LOL!

I setup a short range in my basement. It allows me to practice form/anchor point and use my muscles. Its great because I can leave it setup and just walk into the basement and let a few shots fly.
The only potential problem is I never shoot a second arrow at the same spot on the target. I do not want to destroy my arrows.

If I miss it's hit's the back of my garage's foundation, but I totally know what you mean. It's way close though, not even 15 yards if that. A lot of guys shoot in their houses. Met one dude, that had a target set up in his walk in closet to practice, I couldn't believe it haha!

I partially meant because your dog is out there and the other half is potential flyers while drawing back. I myself have sent stray arrows out in the past while testing/adjusting new releases, clothing catches and sometimes just plain tiredness. Just be careful because the potential is always there.

Right on, it's like a gun. Always point in a safe direction especially when drawing back.

Obviously everybody’s form is different or modified from life injuries and such.I once send an arrow out at a 45° Launch in a board dry test while sitting in the stand with an aluminnok. I never found that $30 arrow! mother effer!

But at the same time, I’m definitely not one that should be pointing finger because I have used a Carter Release for over a decade with a 1 ounce competition trigger spring in it, which I would definitely never recommend that light in the trigger for hunting and yet I still do it. I only just recently retired my Carter and have gone to a new design.

I think we're all stubborn like that in one way or another like that.

What's the new design? I'm using a Tru-Ball Fang. I'm pretty happy with it.

I held off for a long time because I just couldn’t find a release that fit the criteria and adjustability of my Carter set up untill I found the awesome
TRUE FIRE HARD-CORE MAX foldback adjustable release in camo And buckle strap of course because Velcro should never be in a hunting stand! LOL

I worked with a guy who shot .22 subsonics in his basement...until one got away and punched a hole in his hot water heater.

This is mine, it's also adjustable. Really like it. I've used the crap out of it this summer and it's still going strong. I'm very hard on equipment. I actually went to get a Spot Hogg Wiseguy, but they were out, so I got this instead.
