There is actually. There’s a shower building and restroom by where the ferry drops you as well as a park ranger office which has ice.

Bathrooms by the lighthouse only in season though. Depending on how far you drive from the drop location I would just be prepared to pack in/pack out.

Nice. I can go without showering a few days while camping. When it’s time for the drive home, I want to be showered. I’ll have to google it and see if I can get down there sometime. Sounds like a cool place.

Cape Lookout does have a small shower and change area by the ferry dock for day use. I think they have ice for sale at a small ranger shack but note I would plan to take water and ice for a few days keep just to be safe. It is a nice quiet beach vacation for those you love the sand and surf and just getting out of the common tourist trap beaches.

Hoping to take the family on a camping trip here this fall. My Tacoma is currently wearing a set of crappy Ironman RB SUV tires the dealer installed before purchase. I'm planning to move to an AT tire when the time comes to replace these. Will my current tires give me issues if aired down at Cape Lookout?

Planning on doing this in about two weeks. Anyone tried this in the midst of the summer madness? It's not my first choice to go, but I'll take the weekends I get and use them.

I used Davis to book as I heard they are more "mom and pop". Best advice is to call in and ask for availability in the days you want to arrive and depart.

Has anyone ever done Cape Lookout with dog(s)?
NPS policy is they have to be on a leash which is a little unfortunate.

I've never taken my dog because the amount of sand she would bring in the tent would be miserable after 4 days. But, most National Seashores require dogs to be on leashes (or banned entirely) so they don't interfere with the birds or other wildlife.

Love the pic from inside the tent as well as the starlit pic of the Taco. Good work!
