On a base model, light daily driving, what ignition part might used? standard plug and ignition coils or platinum/iridium performance?

Iridium and platinum plugs just last a lot longer. They offer no performance gain. Standard copper is the best conductor. I use Iridiums for one reason only. They will last 100,000 miles and I may switch back to standard copper the next time around so I can make sure they don't seize in the head and I can check the readings on the plugs more often. However, I do like the fact that with Iridiums I can just apply anti-seize, put them in there and forget about them for 100,000 miles. Eventhough I did pull mine at 30,000 just for a look see. The difference is, I didn't have to.
