i had to put a new servo in after drowning it anyways, haha.

the vanquish rear sway helps a ton with crawling with my minimal testing that is

 

Rtr servos suck. I replace them immediately so I don't feel that disappointment that I did tonight when the truck steers itself

 

idk how fast 30mph is in a rc but i cant keep up with it now so thats fast enough for me. do the sway bar and ill think youll enjoy it much more. it doesnt flip on turns unless youre full throttle full lock for a couple seconds.

Is anyone here good at shortening wires? I need a few wires to be shortened down to about an inch long. Will pay what I need to, they aren’t sold how I need them so could really use some help here!

 

Just cut the wires. Undo the connector takeout the pins and re install them at your required length Solder them if you like

 

I’ve ruined to many wires, lol. I’d rather pay someone to do it.

 

Where you located?

I wonder if you could disassemble the winch shorten the wires and resolder the wires to the circuit board?

 

My local Hobby Town has been very helpful when people have asked while I was there. They got a guys nitro buggy going after it sat for a year and he bought it second hand and had no clue about any of it.

 

Anyone that can solder can shorten those wires. Don't over think it you can do it

 

agreed. I am not great at soldering but I can get the job done on stuff like that just find a youtube video that makes sense and practice connecting a few scraps of wire before you do the job at hand.

I was gifted this in a twss its so solid. I glued it to an old cutting board that had a crack in the wood. now i have a little base station that I can set on a table or in my lap

 

My suggestion get a useless circuit board, practice to de solder first. I use a bubble thing to desolder, squeeze and let it go once it gets flowy and it'll take off the old stuff. Then pre solder your wires a little, insert into circuit board and use a little more heat and done. Cut off any excess solder from the wire you put through the circuit. I personally prefer a soldering gun compared to a iron, just personal preference

 

I think the best thing about a soldering station is that you can control the heat better than you can with a gun. The temperature remains constant too.

I use a desoldering pump which is a bit different than a bulb. Does the same thing but easier to use (I think so).

Soldering is a great skill to have and worth putting the effort into learning. If you have a 2gen, you can fix your temp display for example.

My Temp display is seeing how fast the sweat runs off my face haha.


And your right it can digitally control temp. I learned on a gun so I'm more comfortable with it




Also to anyone that doesn't know how to solder its easy, it just takes a little practice but it's very helpful and a great skill to have.
