I've been a long time reader, first time posting. I'm getting ready to take my truck on a change of assignment to Japan. I was told that I need to have Right Hand Drive headlight assembly in order for it to pass inspection. Does anyone have a source for these or know the part number to track them down?

I've looked all over the forums, google, and even asked my Toyota dealer but haven't had any luck.

Projectors have the shield indent in the opposite direction for right hand drive, but for reflector headlights I don’t see how they could be different.

You can get something like this:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eurolite-Drive-Headlight-Converters-Driving/dp/B001P5UVTE

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beam-Deflector-Headlamp-Converters-UK/dp/B013ME2E0E

These are the typical approach for "tourists" driving their LHD vehicles in RHD countries and vice versa. Dunno if it'll work for your intents & purposes though (being stationed military vs visitors/tourists are regarded differently). If it will work, it's cheaper than sourcing the correct RHD headlamp assemblies. Just my $0.02

    You already get your IDP?

North America beams angle up to the right to illuminate street signs and down to the left to avoid blinding other drivers. In RHD countries this would angle is reversed so the light doesn’t go up into the eyes of oncoming traffic which is now on the right.

As @replica9000 points out the hilux uses completely different headlight assemblies. They are not interchangeable. And the Tacoma is North America only, meaning no RHD headlights are made.

The only way I see to do this is a projector retrofit using RHD projectors so the cut off angle is reversed to go up to the left and down to the right.

Edit: BTW Welcome to the forum!
