    You guys ever hear of Jeepneys? They’re this kind of communal taxi everyone uses here in the Philippines.

    The technical term for Cab is Jitney. After the American occupation of the Philippines, the American forces just abandoned the Willy’s Jeeps they used for personnel. So what did they do with it? They turned them into Taxis. They cut the body in half and stretched it like a limo.

    And decades later they kept the same style. Notice how the front end looks just like a Jeep YJ? That’s why they’re called Jeepneys.
