Not much new info here but another interesting comparison.
It blew my mind when he said the hood of the Chevy was even harder to see over than the Taco ...

@RyanL thanks for sharing. I just watched both parts

    Zr2
    +
    Better tires
    Front diff lock

    -
    Body too wide
    Hood hard to see over
Rear shocks are in between diff and wheels and creates a low point

    Trd PRO
    +
    Crawl control
    Great throttle response
    Shocks in rear tucked up
    Great steering feel

    -
    Tires
    No front diff lock

    ———————

Overall fair review . I have 69k miles on my Pro and it has been a pleasure to own, I love it

This is a great review for those who actually off-road...not as for me, I would’ve been interested in the “mall crawl” test and how the suspension holds up then. As well as a count/tally of how many heads you can turn with either during the mall crawl. Preferably chicks.

The rear shocks on the ZR-2 seem to be a bad design sticking down as far as they do.

I've heard that mentioned a lot about GM trucks but in 10 years driving them and doing a lot of hard off roading I never once noticed it as a draw back. I did always have 33s on my trucks though so I had a little extra clearance.

Why did the video cut to a MGM OR in the middle?

I wondered that too, had to be really bad lighting or that was a chase vehicle.

There were other Tacomas in the backgrounds of some of the shots.

I'm surprised the approach angle is so low on the ZR2. Seeing them on the road they *look* like the front rises steeply, but they're only 30 degrees compared to the Tacoma's 36 degrees.

I used to watch Motor Trend videos all the time ... these Edmunds guys do a decent review but man, where's the personality?

I know that, I guess I'm curious why did the was prominently shown. It's like it either snuck in there by accident, or they didn't realize it was a different truck during editing.

^^^Finally the truth comes out. Guys who think chicks actually care about what brand their truck is, are the same ones who can’t figure out why it’s only other dudes that comment on how ‘huge’ their biceps are.
