    Heres a pic of how the floor mats have to slide back slightly vs the position they clip down in on the oem carpet. Id say they sit back towards the seat about an inch or two further

    I dont know if it would work for third gens. I have yet to hear anyone try to put it into a gen 3, but theres only one way to find out.
