I see people saying it's taking them a good 5+ hours with the help of a friend. I tried look in my at install instructions and hardware, but can someone who has done this explain what step/process is taking so long?

I'm not trying to put anyone down. I just work a lot and want to know if I'm missing something, or if I will be able to do it in an evening after work

I don't have Mobtown sliders, but I have BAMF. I can tell you that the driver's side takes the longest. Most of the time is sucked up in removing items from the rails and reinstalling them and then tightening down a ton of bolts. Also, there are some tricky spaces to try and get your hands and wrenches into, so that slows things down. 5 hours is probably a realistic estimate with no breaks.

On my own it took about 4. You gotta read those instructions again and again. Visualize what goes where and then get at it

Read the instructions, look under your truck so the pictures make sense , reread instructions. Reread instructions step by step as you go.

I did mine in about 2 hrs with beer breaks.

I did use an atv/motorcycle jack to lift them in place, that helps ALOT.

Took me easily 5hrs to install my RCI sliders with lots of swearing, watching YouTube, and head scratching. They really need a step by step YouTube video. A buddy and an atv Jack are essential.

I took me about 5-6 hours by myself, to do both sides, lots of coffee breaks. Getting that first bolt in the center of the slider was the hardest part. You will need several jack stands. I used a jack to inch the slider up to the frame.

Only took me about maybe 1 hour per side really, its super easy to bolt on, the only part the was troublesome was trying to hold that long piece down the frame in the front and bolt it on.

Takes me about 1-1/2 hours. Joe A. has it down to a science. I think he’s around 45 minutes for an install.

I’ve installed over 50 sets so it’s second nature anymore. Hardest part for me is the last beam clamp and the last bolt on driver side. Damn hand doesn’t fit between the fuel tank and chassis.

Installed my Mobtown Sliders last week. I had no problems with anything except getting the second set of "Formed C-Clamp" bolts started, that caused me to cuss considerably as well as bend the handles on my two biggest C-Clamps trying to squeeze the frame enough to get the holes to line up. I did the install by myself and that was the only thing that gave me any trouble at all. I expected the long handled washers to be the challenge, not so much.

IDK about 2nd Gens but I could probably put a set on a 3rd Gen in about an hour after installing this set. Having not heard anyone else mention the C-Clamp issue I thought I was missing something and wasted a bunch of time looking and checking things over on the drivers side before settling on the brute force route. I actually spent a lot of time on other places just making sure I wasn't getting ahead of myself. Passenger side didn't take much time at all.

A lot longer. Damn third gens added all sorts of crap down the driver side chassis.
