Fresh back from a car camping trip to Pinecrest with some family friends.

    A few observations/experiences:

Dispersed camping RUINS car camping. Our fire pit, their tent

    24CEDEF4-F2A4-447C-B8B7-4718666369EA.jpg

If you wanna go night fishing, don’t drink margaritas all day. I thought I had a big one, but literally reeled in a sailboat (on 4lb test):rofl::rofl:

Saw @TK7692 rig driving by the Cold Springs gas station Friday night. Didn’t realize a rig was down, glad y’all got it worked out

Also, my kids are always the dirtiest ones in camp, I love it! ;)

    Some really cool shit
Seems like camping anywhere in California that is any kind of a park is overrun by humanity. Utica was like downtown SF. Insane amount of people there. Same with Lake Alpine. Last week end at Ice House was like a zoo, as well.

    Not an overbrander.
Thanks for the tag, Bret. Everything worked out for us. And yes, I agree; dispersed camping > car camping.

Finally got around to installing all of my vinyl today. I did a hood decal to cover up some paint peeling and some custom SR5 bedside decals. The hood decal came out like shit, but I’m really liking the bedside decals.

Lame. Dispersed camping is usually not allowed in or around developed campgrounds.

No kidding. Almost $40 for a patch of dead grass jammed up against more dead grass and your neighbor's spot. If there are showers, gross as fuck.

Better off staying in a motel 6 for that kinda money.

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Only non dispersed camping I’ve done since buying my truck is at Boca reservoir. I take the fam up there every year. Fishing is good and there are hella trails to run.

I go to Lawson's Landing a good bit. Privately owned so you can take the dogs out and let them off the leash. Plus it's not far from the house.

Oh. I see what you mean. I thought you were at a developed campground and someone decided to just throw a tent up right next to you. Had that happen last year.

I've found the crowds thin out a lot in late September/early October. Camped at Jackson Meadows in the beginning of October a few years ago. Got pretty cold overnight, but we had the entire campground to ourselves.
