I didn't buy a specifically-made-for-hammocks underquilt, I just throw a big blanket in the bottom and lay on top of it, which has worked fine down to 20 degree snowy nights at Black Mountain last year. Don't have a bug net either, but I'd recommend it. My hammock is built in such a way that I can flip the top closed and that does good enough, but I still wish I had an actual net.

Once you start sleeping in the hammock you likely won't go back to tents. It's ridiculously comfortable. I never have back pain in the mornings, and that was all but guaranteed in the tent.

I've slept in my hammock once overnight & the bugs ruined it for me, even flipping the sides overtop of me. I've been hesitant to do it again without getting a bug net first.

I found this on the Zon & have been debating if I should give it a shot with my sleeping bag or a down blanket wrapped under the hammock somehow.

Too much time to setup & tear down for 1 person. I do that when the wife & kid are with me.

I'll be bringing my backpacking setup for quick setup/teardown for this trip.

Sweet! Welcome to TW and the meat!

Any details you'd like to share? Truck, location, taste in sweaty hairy men?

Edit: Oh wait....this is Brandon's dad.

    My comment still stands! :bikewheelie:

:gossip: We'll be there for 4 days.

I have a dog, so no hammock for me. Polly goes with me every wheeling trip, loves it!
And trees aren't 100% abundant in a prime location at Rush, but I wasn't really looking for hammock spots last year. I will try to accommodate all I can, though.

We've got enough trucks and bed racks that we can set something up using door frames and bed racks if we have to.

Any reason to worry about my diffs & water crossings at Rush? I'm guessing no but if I need to figure out a diff breather mod before I'd like to start that process.

Not really. Most deep mud holes have routes around them.
Still, a good idea to relocate anyway. It's easy and likely one of the smartest mods.

    Yes.

    No.

    Could be.

Yes. They should be one of the first mods. Too cheap of a fix NOT to do (especially w/DYF installed high performance track kit:burnrubber:)

You dont need it as in HAVE to have.....but.....better to have and not need.

@beertimecontinuum may be able to help, or at least point you to the right hardware needed.
