It's so hot out they lowered the temp in my building even more to compensate...my office is sitting at 67 degrees right now. I'm freezing. The moment I step outside I'm gonna shatter like a hot glass pitcher suddenly filled with cold water.

I haven't done a whole lot of research on mine them yet. What prompted you to choose them? Did you install them? Would you recommend them for towing/ hauling?

I chose them for the weight carrying ability. Yes, I installed them and the rest of the lift kit myself along with UCA's. That's what I bought mine for.

I've had 2 of the 150 qt marine coolers full of food for a weekend for 15 guys, gear for 5 people and 5 people in the truck. Along with a 1986 Ranger bass boat hooked to the back and the truck sat level.

    BOOM!!!

That cap was heavier than I thought and my rear sits a wee bit higher now and I think (estimate only) I gained 37.25 HP :D

Looks good, think trucks look better without them. However I can see the huge upside to having one.

Yup - just wasn't really using it much anymore, other than the rack for my canoe. I'm going to pick up a Yakima or Thule roof rack system for that. Anything else I need to haul for fishing, hunting, exploring, etc. can easily fit under a tonneau cover.

May replace my bed rail caps as there are a couple of gouges on each end from my cap being on for 7 years. Are those easy to pop off & replace?

You're welcome. Figured getting the info straight from the horses mouth is best. Let you make the call. I suppose if the one that is aluminum can really withstand hail, then it can withstand most tree branches too. Gotta keep in mind that shit falls outta trees in the woods. I've hear horror stories of the plain vinyl ones. Look at the load capacity too. A cubic foot of snow in the midwest weighs about 13 lbs on average. You're in Main so I am not sure what the snow up there is like. Ours in Maryland can be very wet, and heavy or very dry and light. I read that on average, 1" of snow can weigh 1lb per sq/ft.

Most covers support around 400 lbs distributed. That's 1 foot of snow on a cover that size. That's a lot of snow for me, not so much for you. I would buy a snow broom regardless what you buy. LOL

I think you just jank them off. You have to remove them to put the OEM tonneau on.

I was thinking (dangerous) that the truck before my Tacoma was a 1999 F150 and that had a fabric tonneau cover with those arched bars underneath. That withstood 12 winters just fine and that was a wider & longer bed. I may go with the Tonneau Pro soft version.
