    Hello all,
First off I've been a lurker for a while and have been enjoying perusing all the posts and the great tips/advice. I have a 2017 Tacoma DCSB 4x4 and have been sitting on it trying in anticipation to put some work into it.

I'm planning on adding some upgrades including an Icon Stage III lift with Billet UCAs and am shopping around for tires/rims for it. I've stalked the forum a bit and have decided on 285/70R/17s and am contemplating between the K02s and the Falkens. I'm looking at the SCS F5 rims and have been told that with this set up, I will most likely be rubbing and will need to trim. I just wanted to hear some opinions because from what I've read, it seems like this may work without the need to trim since it's been lifted. I can get it trimmed either way; I just was hoping to avoid it. Also I was going to get a full-sized spare but may just order a cheap steel rim for the spare. Will that fit in the stock spare spot or will it be too big? Thanks for the all the advice!

I'm also planning on ordering these things and will post pics once I get her purrrty.

285/70/17's with aftermarket UCA's, depending on how much caster you get out of your alignment, you'll most likely have to trim something to make them fit. The reason why the F5 wheels rub is because of the back spacing of the wheel itself. I believe they are like 3.5? With that you'll probably be rubbing pretty good. I know the other SCS wheels are like 4.3 which is more ideal for you since you want trimming to minimum. As far as the spare goes, you can probably get a steelie with a tire with the same dimensions to make it fit under the bed? I'm running a full size spare so I can't really give any advice on that.

Thanks for the input. If I can find some rims with a 4.5 BS, think I could get away with not rubbing? Have always loved SCS but may have to go with something else if that makes my life easier.

Try looking at SCS Ray10’s or SR8’s. Both awesome wheels with 4.3 BS. I’m running SR8’s and clear the cab mount and only scrub on the rear of my fenders if I’m wheeling. Although with 285’s I think you’ll be rubbing regardless. Every truck is different as to each variable in each person’s setup will be different. I say send it and get what you want and shit’ll buff later.

Spoke with scs, they didn't have the 17" SCS SR8s and it wasnt coming into the next shipment so i went with some Fuel rims instead. Placed the order for the roof rack, front/rear bumper, exhaust, rims, tires, lift kit, and LED lights today... excited to see how it turns out!

Shoutout to Carl from 4wheelparts.com...he really hooked it up on the parts knocking off ~100$ off on the front bumper, rear bumper, exhaust, roof rack, and 25$ off each rim. His extension was 5122

That's a nice suspension setup, you should be happy.

As far as the F5s go, just to be clear they have 5 different configurations of them only 2 of which being the 'extreme' backspacing (3.5)

That being said, if you like that look then go for it! Also, check out the Nitto Ridge Grapplers.
