Haha I just have the cheap midland cb off Amazon, I think it’s like 30 or 40 dollars. I think it’s more important to have your antenna setup dialed. Since I fixed my antenna I haven’t had any CB problems.

    Mine is the midland 1001z

Where did you put your antenna? The back of the bed?

Yeah back left or right on a mount with wire running into taillight. You can also mount in front where ditch lights mount. Not a fan but it works. 30-50$ CB is fine it is the antennae setup which will make or break you.

all the stuff for it is listed below in our Amazon list following the thread.

Yup, back of the bed on the rail. I bought one of the cheap firestik mounts, drilled out the holes to fit a bolt for the Amazon t-slot bolts. I had to use a ground strap to get it grounded for best reception.

I am using a 4’ firestik with coil, quick disconnect and 18ft coax with k4 stud. You need to cut and solder that cable to length though.

Thanks. I think I am going to mount the antenna on the back inside the bed near the tail light, so I can run the chord through all that good stuff in there

That's a whole lot of vacuum tubes. Where's the punch card reader?

The Cobra 75 is a nice unit. The main unit is small, so you can hide it away. All the controls are through the handset.

So is there a jack point when you have skids, to lift the whole front? do you have to take your skids off?7D223889-B2F6-45D6-B1B9-5B8D7EAA6CEB.jpg

I drilled a small hole in the bed, removed the passenger cubby to run the wire through the bedside to the grommet under the passenger seat.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Punch cards would have been high tech. The program loaded from a long spool (roughly 150 feet) of punched paper tape encoded in Octal.

I usually use a 2x4 to spread the load a bit but I have aluminum skids so have to be a little more careful

That lifts one side at a time. I want to lift both front tires at one point.
