Unfortunately I'll need to remove the camper more frequently than I'd like to.

As a career mechanical engineer who also happens to be married to someone with a 4 year college degree in Packaging Science (yes there is such a thing), I’ll say that packaging is often woefully neglected, no criticism of GFC intended as they do seem to take this seriously. But as a product component that is invariably thrown away (or at best recycled) it can be a significant part of product cost that the customer doesn’t really care about - until the product arrives damaged. Two things are guaranteed: many shipped items are handled very roughly, and even if they’re not, EVERY shipped item is subject to significant vibration during truck, rail, and/or air freight. With heavy and/or fragile items that can be a killer. And, there actually is a technical definition for fragility: https://www.westpak.com/images/pdf/Product_Fragility_Analysis_Made_Easy.pdf

Since we're getting into the weeds, there are specs out there for this that are required in aerospace, RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810. That Mil Std is mentioned in the link.

Both of those standards cover shipping and operational environments. Depending on actual usage, shipping can be worse than use.

    Fun stuff.

Well if I’m 41, 49 is in MA and your 50 maybe they will decide to head east sooner than later.

Anyone East of Montana that is in our number range? If so we might be able to put together a full load.

Edit: Because I couldn't successfully lay down the right words.

I’m #32, and I’m in Arkansas. I heard from Elise this Sunday, and she said mine should be completed in about a week. She had no idea when it might be headed my way, but promised to let me know as soon as she had an estimate.

Sticking with the gator clip? I like this idea, I may have to print myself some of these rod holders when I get my GFC.

Yep, cheaper if it hits the rails but takes quite a bit longer if your east of Chicago from LA.

That’s actually not bad. 7 business day service coast to coast is close to as good as it gets for ground LTL. You don’t want to know what an air freight bill would be.

You are much more patient than I am... I've been literally jumping out of my freaking skin the past week or so not having mine yet and I'm #41... Well if #32, #41, #49, and #50 plus @whitetaco16 's Repair are all here in the East maybe we can all get a "white glover" sooner than later. HAHAHA...

I heard from Graeme last night, and he said mine should be delivered late August.

At this point I’m ok with waiting for late August if he’s coming through the east.’ I’ve made other arrangements to borrow a truck bed tent in the mean time. Seems like it’s worth the wait. Actually did he say yours would be shipped or delivered?

He offered to ship it freight, and have it arrive mid-August, or white glove delivery late August. I would rather wait a few weeks at this point for the white glove delivery.

#32 late August delivery. Ok. I guess that gives us a reasonable time frame. Maybe I’ll hear soon and can get on that delivery down or maybe up the coast..... looking forward to hearing the options. Thank you for sharing.

Lol I know! I am hoping most people ignore it thinking it's a work truck with a toolbox in the back.

Nice progress!! You need to put more angle on the rods, and get them under more tension. They work as springs, and the overhang will always be floppy unless they get some curve in them in order to pull on the fabric.

Does anyone that already has their GFC have a Dometic or Arb fridge in the back? I am looking to get the Dometic CXF 75DZW in a group buy, but want to see what it looks like in the back. I am planning to build a kitchen pullout system alongside a drawer platform when I get my GFC in September, however I am hesitant to go with a specific platform/build height or cooler size without seeing the amount of room I have to work with in person.

Any suggestions for platform height or fridge size would really be appreciated!
