One of the simple rules I live by, anything that's being prepared by a guy wearing a gas mask, elbow-high rubber gloves and goggles, I'm not eating. If there's a waiver involved, it's in the same boat!

Are you able to taste anything yet or are your taste buds still scorched and withered?

Morning. Are you still working in Boston, if so, how much does the Comm Ave bridge project suck for hauling?

Guys looking for a quick and cheap lighting ideas! I have a 200 foot walkway that I want to light up this weekend, and not really any power spots to hook up from close by. Anyone have any clever lighting ideas? Or maybe some light strings that might run off of a battery for 4-5 hours? I know I could buy a handful of lanterns or something, but I have a feeling that could get pricey.

EDIT: would the outlet from the taco bed work with something like that? How long until my battery died?
Glad you guys made it out of the flood safely! While it would be nice to never have to work, I've known some people who are in that boat and lets just say...from what little I have seen of your life on here...you are happier and better off busting ass everyday than most of that crowd is. When you never work for things, you cannot appreciate what you have, and if you aren't appreciative for what you currently have you will never be happy no matter what you get. From what I can see, that leads to lots of booze, drugs and instigation.

Not sure what is too pricey, but could look into getting solar power lights that are staked into the ground. If you want string lights I believe there are solar ones of those as well. They aren't as bright as electric powered lights, but I have a nice set that light up my driveway nicely.

I want to keep it a couple hundred or less, we will eventually later this year/early spring be lighting it with real lights and won't have much need for what we would use for temporary lighting. I have thought about the solar ones and I will try to find some pricing. The only pain is that the path is covered by trees, and so I would have to move them every time I want to charge them up. I know that's lazy sounding, but I don't want to forget to move them or something and then be out of lights. I have some white christmas lights that I was hoping I could just lay by the side of the path and plug into the taco.

    YOLO as they say.

I agree with @morri89 Those staked solar lights are pretty good. They're not super bright, but they'll light up a path well enough so you can see what you're doing. You can get packs of them pretty cheap and the big box stores also. You'll need them fairly close together depending on how bright you want it to be.

Another option, I have some solar flood lights that I have mounted to my garage since there's no power there. They're bright, have good throw, but you'd need something to mount them to. You wouldn't need nearly as many but they'd need to be mounted higher up and could be blinding.

Those floods sound like a really good idea for some spots in our parking lot, and at the entrance to the pathway. Lots of tall trees I can mount them on and the parking area is flooded with sun all day long. I'll have to look at HD or walmart and maybe grab a couple pairs of those.

We used these for overhead path stringers at a wedding a few years ago and they worked pretty well.

Or you can do individual solar stake lights on the ground, but that'd be a lot more expensive.

I have seen solar string lights that have a small solar panel at the end of the string that you stake in the ground. So depending on the location of the trees, that could be staked outside the tree cover and still provide power for the string lights.

I like these, a couple of these and the whole path would have enough light to guide people and I could stay under $100 easily.

    Thanks everyone!

Actually today and yesterday been hauling Saugus to Georgetown. But it definitely sucks. We generally avoid situations like that at all costs.
