    Hey Guys and Gals,
So, My mother purchased a 2007 FJC Manual in 2015. Later sold it in 2016 because she didn't wanna drive stick anymore. Well the owner has now decided to sell it. SO, should I ditch my Tacoma and buy it? I love the fj's and more importantly a manual. Attached are pictures of my Tacoma and the FJ.

Our opinions are gonna be void. It's 100% up to what you want ma'am. Personally, I cant stick an elk in the back of an FJ. :)

That's true, I'm just curious to see what people say that have fj's. good and bad of both. I've already had to rebuild head gaskets on mine and don't wanna go through that again.

I’ve never owned an FJ, so I really can’t speak on the experience with one. If you’ve already replace a head gasket(which doesn’t happen often to start with) chances are high that truck will out live your time with it before requiring any more large maintenance. Assuming you have the V6, the FJ will have the same motor you have now. And that’s a great motor. The biggest pro/con I could see is having a truck bed, or not having a truck bed. And having more or less interior space.

In the 05-06 Tacomas it happened pretty frequent at about 150k miles. I then replaced it with an 07 design. I mainly just need the full rear seat in the fj

The FJ will always be worth more. I don't know why Toyota doesn't bring them back with a rag-top or modular roof.

I parted with my 2007 FJ earlier this year because a lifestyle change (had 2 kids and the car seats don’t work with the suicide doors). It had 215,000 miles and was mechanically in great shape. I sure hope my Tacoma turns out to be as reliable as my old FJ. I don’t think you can go wrong either way, just figured I’d share my experience.

This will mean very little, but my 2008 FJ's head gasket started leaking. 129,000 miles. I had not noticed or seen any signs of it yet, but my (very) trusted mechanic noticed when he put it on the lift to do my brakes. I loved my FJ but I was looking at a $3K bill for the brakes and both head gaskets, or get $11K on a trade in. (didn't buy a Tacoma unfortunately) I'm confident that the mechanic wasn't looking to pad my bill, as I would have needed to send it elsewhere for the head gaskets.
