Just picked up a Snugtop shell used. Great shell and I’ve fixed a few tiny leaks so far. Around the tailgate, around the shell door hinge bolts and the brake light. Only place it’s leaking now is the rear door gasket. It’s been compressed so long I think it doesn’t have much strength to push against the rear glass. I can’t find it but in sketchy online stores and I’m in VA and the closest dealer is in Missouri. I’m wondering since this is an older model shell have they changed gaskets to a new style? Has anyone ever put another seal on that wasn’t factory and it worked? I’ll attach a picture of what I think is a match. Thanks.

I think my seals are the same although I am not 100% positive, I too get some leaking from the back glass area and was going to look in to fixing this my self. my current idea was to add another seal of some kind to the shell portion of the topper, not the glass so as to have the 2 seals merge with each other in an offset, if that makes sense. Basically one right next to the other when the glass is shut.

I actually called the closest dealer to me and ordered new seals. They said snugtop updated them a few years back since this top is a 2011 model. The 3M tape came off the shell and was soaking the carpet and then running down towards where you put a bed stiffener. Got 8 ft of the back glass seal, two flaps for each side and a tailgate to rear door seal. I’ve sealed both hinges, brake light and put tailgate seals in the bed so hopefully I won’t have any leaks when they’re installed. Thanks for you info as well.

I sure didn’t man the flaps were like 5 dollars a piece and the seal that goes against the tailgate was 15 I think.
