Install was fine. The monitor wires were a little short to run through the firewall and to both batteries. I added some more wire, crimped/heat shrinked a couple of terminal ends and it worked well. Monitor is still a great purchase IMO.

Ok... So I think I'm getting the dual battery thing figured out. But I want to make sure before I start ordering shit. lol

As far as actual hardware is concerned, I am thinking this is all I need to get my dual battery setup rolling. Obviously I need a bunch of wires connectors etc... but correct me if I'm wrong that, in terms of hardware, this should get me going.

Looking into installing a dual battery setup in my Tacoma. I am going to go with the BlueSea 7622 relay. I cannot find a dual battery monitor anywhere. I really like the peak DBI one but cannot seem to find it. Anyone have any knowledge on where to get a decent monitor?

I am probably going to go with this one. But I want to ask someone that has already installed it how easy it was. I can't imagine it being that hard, but I'm tired of going through my firewall, so I want to make sure it's worth it.

I posted a monitor a few pages back (#1953) that fits in daskboard blank. Works well.

I install the one you are linking too. It works great and wasn't that hard to install. The end of the wires will require you to crimp terminal ends to them...not that difficult. You will have one set (+ / -) for the main and the other for the aux battery.

    Thanks for responding.

Do you see any issue with going through my Blue Sea 12 port Aux fusebox for the aux battery? I'm not sure if I will do that or just go straight to the battery, but I'm just curious.

I'm running everything (lights, cb, rechargers) through my BlueSea 12 from my Aux battery except my winch. Winch is wired to my Main...need the alternator to help recharge when the winch is under load. I used 8 Gauge welding cables to run from my Aux Battery to the BlueSea 12. Got it off Amazon. It's heat resistant, flexible and it came with lugs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BNRCRG8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

FB89FE39-CBA2-4FF6-B2EC-6F9BDED6E6A6.jpgOk so here’s the set up so far. The ground is to be determined for the battery. The wire coming off the right fuse goes to the main battery. The cole hersee is wired to an led status and that’s grounded separate from the ground coming from the isolator but I can’t get a reading from the battery. Does everything look correct? I didn’t put a switch on the hersee either.

Here’s the diagram I went off:

    A thing or two...
The isolator provides the ground connection for the status LED. Look at the connection drawing again and you'll see that the status LED is wired to 12V and the isolator. The isolator switches to ground internally to provide the ground to illuminator the LED. Fix that first and if the LED still doesn't work try reversing the wires as the polarity is probably backwards.

So i have to put the ground directly to the LED meter? I dont have to ground it to something first?
