Yeah its a bummer of a situation. I still have 2 G5 transmitters and tons of sensors so maybe when I get low I'll see if I can go G6.

G6 is awesome by the way. I have my G5 as a backup but I'll never go back to it

 I've got the Wilfred Brimley too:D.
Been a type 1 for 33 years(was 6 when diagnosed). I'm on the Medtronic 670g(been on a pump since I was 18). I am lucky enough to work at a hospital with a Diabetes Treatment Center. If we follow the guidelines, all of our insulin, pump supplies, test stripes, ect are cover by our insurance 100%. The only thing that isn't covered is the closed looped system(still 80% after $500 deductible). They're hoping to have the sensors added soon.

Hope you have good luck with the sensors. I quit using them months ago, I only use as a pump and no cgm. I can not wait until I can get away from Medtronic and get a different type. I still have a broken pump that they say is not a priority since it still works. Been since early Feb.

That would piss me off. I enjoyed the sensors when I had them, but they are just too expensive. I'm hoping that the hospital gets them covered through the DTC. They want the employees to have the best control as possible, so I imagine it's not too far away. I've had 3 different pumps. All have been Medtronic. The one I traded in on the 670 was 11yrs old and nothing was wrong with it

Amazon I love you, 50ct of test strips away the stores is 37-50 depending on where you go. The internets had 300ct for 44 bucks. Damnit why didn't I think of it earlier

I went round and round with sensors. 700 bucks is nuts. My last order was in november. I paid it. They then kept calling me saying i owed them 700 more for an order back in march I said no and FO. Im nto paying. They got it straight supposedly and saw where they did not deliver noone signed etc. Fast forward to june july they did it again.

I got 670g through trade in program i had 630. I tried everythign to get my old one back but iw couldnt happen. I left a great review on all the issues both personnel and pump.

When I first got my pump, they told me it'd be 1K(around Nov) with 2 boxes of sensors. I paid it then. I got a bill a few months later for $400 added on to that was $700 for another order of sensors($500 deductible was part of that). I paid it and haven't ordered sensors again. I'm still kinda pissed they threw that $400 in on me.

The sensors are dam expensive. I could not get my 670G to run good with me in auto mode. would drop me hard every afternoon. I exhausted teh settings changes with the local rep, and the helpline (no help), running mine in manual mode, with sensors. I like knowing where I am at at all times, I find it to be pretty accurate after 24 hours of a new sensor. Still tweaking basals and bolus rates, I will ween off the sensors once I feel comfortable with everything hopefully.

Are the sensors just not syncing up right to the Medtronic stuff?

not sure if for me, I will answer anyways :D

Everyone is different......some have great results....I did not.

For me, the sensors communicate fine with the pump. they give fairly accurate readings every 5 mins or so and I like to see the daily trends, and direction of BG rising or falling. while in auto-mode (the whole reason I wanted this system, kind of artificial pancreas type thing, hands off, let it work) we could not adjust the settings to not have my pump crash me hard in the late afternoons. like 40s / 50s consistently every afternoon. while in auto mode, there are only a few settings to play with. we tried them all, from one extreme to the other. even got a replacement pump to try, to see if the algorithm in mine was doodoo, replacement pump did same. I got to where I did not trust it due to this. (felt like it was trying to murder me every afternoon) went back to manual mode, still wearing sensors, I just dont let my pump automatically deliver anything to me, other than preprogrammed basal rates, which I have 4 periods during the day with different rates. bolus wizard for carb intake.

I had a pay it forward group on facebook with 3000 diabetics. FB shut it down and screwed us all. We should make a diabetic deals thread

    I'd be in I have several sensors I can't use from 630 I can't use.

They called me today about my broken pump. But why did they call to tell me they don't have a replacement yet and I need to call and get the ball rolling again. I can post a recording of this voicemail so I'm not just making this up. I still don't have a replacement. They finally quit trying to get me to pay them for unordered and unneeded and not received supplies. Oh no sensors since then and still a low 6.x a1c. Fuck Medtronic.

Mine have just been way off. Like possible wrong doses off. The new 670 uses a different chemical on sensors than 630 so it can affect people differently. Unfortunately I can not get my 630 back it was amazing. The 670 is absolute trash.

Glad to find this thread. I've been a diabetic for 24 years, since I was 7. Pumping since I was 13. I have a Medtronic now and like it; I started with an OG Minimed, maybe even before they were acquired by medtronic? I've had a couple other pumps but have always liked the support Medtronic offers. Hate to hear other people are having issues with them.

No CGM use for me so far. My A1C has been above 7.5 maybe once, can't remember the last time it was above 7.0. My insurance is pretty turrible right now, so I don't plan to be using them anytime soon.

That sucks with the insurance. The CGM is life changing.

I think it would possibly help get a tighter window for my numbers, getting rid of the few highs and lows I have. But I can't get my a1c much lower without having too many lows.

    Which system do you use?

Dexcom G6. I've been on it since the G4 and it just keeps getting better. More expense, but better. It has saved my ass multiple times and even takes the guess work out is diabetes. I just had surgery so I don't have usual feelings as I recover. I was 46 yesterday with no awareness. That wouldn't have ended well. It's frustrating when it wakes you up at night, but realistically the alternative would have been much worse. The G6 is thin and never needs to be calibrated. It also inserts w/ one hand so I've been putting it on my arm which is out of the way.
