Yes, the SP is expensive. But I bet most owners think it is worth it as it is well engineered and designed, and in my opinion the cost is mostly justified due to how easy it is to install and use (I'm suspect of that 20-30 minutes everytime you, a self-professed electrical novice, want to install a new accessory and switch... did you forget to put a "1" in front of the 2 or 3?).

If you're going to only run a few switches, it's probably not the right tool. I'm only using it for 2 things now... but have a slow and steady plan for most of the other ones. Now that it is installed, adding new accessories will be a breeze. That's where the expense is justified.

If Condensation is the issue then a clear plastic cover might worsen the problem. It wouldn't let that condensate evaporate when it got up to temperature. I can see you point if your concerned about water getting on the unit, but if that's the case then mount it in the cab.

Interesting idea, but you’d have to extend every wire on the wiring harness. Tedious. The power unit is solid state and designed to be in the engine compartment, but according to the manufacturer should not be mounted horizontally and should not be wired to a terminal block. This is a popular mounting option using the @Mr.PowerTrays mount. For the record this is the route I’m taking and many other members have gone this route without issue as well

BP-51 and OME Springs, SnugTop HiRise Sport with Baja Rack, ARB awning, rock ware sliders, 285 wildpeak bed sleeper system. SSO slimline, Baja designs lights and KC rock lights. Lots of the usual recovery gear.

I couldn't agree more, I got a knock off unit from slimsdepot and it was ok, the switch in the cab was horrendously green and overwhelmingly bright at night and the one time I actually really needed my front light bar and rock lights the unit just failed. I had to stop and get out mess with the relays and fuses, it was a nightmare. This unit is so much more reliable and solid. You really do get what you pay for. Pay once cry once and know you have peace of mind with a reliable product. It is a pretty intensive install I had Juniper Overland/Off-Grid engineering in Colorado do mine and truly couldn't be happier. The only thing I haven't been overly impressed with is the app, it is not as user friendly as it could be and really could use a revamp.

    EDIT:
Per some others advice, uninstalled then installed the app a couple of times. Now works great, was able to customize it and match the color of the switches perfectly to the dash, amazing product.

Just installed my SP-9100 over the weekend. Mounted it using the SDHQ mount and its been awesome so far. I've only got 2 things hooked up to it so far, but the easy of addition and additional control you get is well worth the price of entry. Plus not I don't have to worry about accidentally leaving accessories on as I have it keyed off the ignition.

Is there a reason to run the power to the fuse block from the switch pro, rather than directly from the battery?

Can someone please tell me what the hole diameter and center to center spacing is on the power unit? I'd like to have a mount made before the unit comes in tomorrow.

Fewer cables. Less connections at the battery terminal. Cleaner install.

    I don't believe there's a functional advantage.

What size ring terminals is everyone using for connections? Planning on placing an order throughout Waytek and want to make sure I order the correct size. I have 1/4” for 14-16 Guage and they are too large for the terminals.

Planning do get one soon. Is the fuse tray for even more accessories other than the 8 available on the SP? it is not needed correct? Also if i been reading correctly you don't need fuses after the SP for accessories?

I would only need to do something like this right? ^^^^ Then run power to my lights and stuff.

That is true you don’t need any fuses after the switch pro. And you don’t need the additional fuse block for lights.
