My wife has a 2012 jeep liberty arctic edition with 65,xxx miles.
We found a 2015 4runner with 72,xxx miles on it at a local toyota dealership.

A 4runner has been her dream ride for a long time. The payment would be $150-$200 a month more, most likely.

Shes worried about the higher miles and higher payment. I understand this but i know for sure that the 4runner will last a hell of alot longer.

Some advice from the ladies and gents here would be appreciated.:)

A Jeep Liberty can't hold a candle to the 4runner. The runner will last twice as long.

Couldnt agree more. I like the low payment on the jeep but if the trans dies or something then i will have to fix it, then ill be pissed and sell it.
So im thinkin its better to have a little bigger payment and reliability

You might could get a deal on a SR5 4x4 version, new, about the same price range as a used one. Maybe shop around price wise? But yeah, definitely get the 4runner, much better vehicle, longer lasting, and better looking!

My wife test drove both the 4Runner and the Highlander. She went with the Highlander because she didn’t like how the 4Runner drove more like a truck. I believe the Jeep Liberty is in the same boat. If she wants more of a truck feel without being in a truck go with the 4Runner. If she wants more of an SUV/Car feel stick with the Jeep Liberty.

It has 7k higher miles. For a vehicle that'll in all likelihood go 300k+ miles easily with just routine maintenance, having 7k miles more than a Jeep product is nothing. The 4Runner may as well have 0 miles or -150k miles when you're comparing it to a Jeep.

The higher payment is worth it. The only reason I wouldn't recommend a 4Runner is if it's 2wd. Don't do the 2Runner.

4runner vs jeep liberty...come on now
Thats like comparing 5guys to McDonald's lol
    My 2018 4runner is great, i just hit 17k miles(purchased in fall of 17)
You could try waiting a few months for end of year and holiday sales, its definitely worth it to get out of a heep.
And for what its worth a coworker of mine had a liberty and the engine crapped out at around 150k miles, he ended up having a shop swap in a jasper rebuild so he could make it to work.
In was hesitant too as i was trading in another car and my payments went up, but i knew i wanted the 4runner so i made it work

I will second looking at a brand new one. When I went to buy the wife a "new" used 4Runner all the ones I looked at where running $31-33k with 20-30k miles on them (SR5s), last dealership I went to had zero used ones in stock, long story short we ended up getting a still on the boat on its way over, 2016 SR5 4x4 with 3rd row for $32k out the door. Its not the color she wanted but it matches my Tacoma! lol
