My lock it boofed and I lost the pieces, not it just flaps around

 

I'm 1/4 German, and 3/4 who knows what else (really we have zero idea). I'll exercise the 1/4 German portion to get out of this tho haha

 

Older American cars are solid vehicles. I can't say the same after about 1995, however. You can see the decline in build quality once cars started getting curvy from being boxy.

 

I see these guys all the time towing all the Toyotas in AZ and Cali down to Mexico

 

dutch-German and half Cherokee native american. family was out of Germany before all that crap so i guess we are good

So you need a whole new gas door, the gas door lock, and the filler neck trim?

Any idea if 4Runners have the same thing? Because those are freakin' everywhere. I went to a junkyard where there was a whole ROW of 3rd Gen 4Runner LIMITEDS. Someone took all the e-lockers, sadly.

I'm glad the 3rd Gen T4R's share so many parts. I would be without a front differential, an oil cap for my 5VZ, and a shifter console without them. 4x4 Tacomas are nonexistent here.

My oil cap is from a 1976 Toyota Pickup 2WD (obviously since that's all we had here), found it in a Junkyard in Spokane a couple years ago. Swapped the o ring from my 1995 Cap and it fit right in the groove and hasn't leaked ever.

That's interesting. It took me forever to find a 4Runner with the 5VZ still in it, and one that still had an oil cap. The 5-Lug had one, but it was all burnt up and ugly. I found a nicer looking one from a '96 Limited with half the engine missing and bought it.

 

The oil cap threads are the same for pretty much every toyota

 

Should of just got one of those trd aluminum ones on ebay lol

 

That's tacky. My goal is to restore the 5-lug into a stock truck first, and then rice the hell out of it.

 

Dont even paint it. Just sticker bomb the whole truck lol

 

Those things suck, they hold so much damn heat you'll burn yourself easily and they're hard to grab

 

I'm going to be needing a new battery pretty soon, I have a Duralast in there from 2014 but it's on its last legs with corrosion at the vents and posts.

Are those Optimas worth it?
