I don't usually leave product reviews, but was so pleased with my latest purchase I wanted to tell TW my experience.

A few months ago, I borrowed a Walmart-grade, folding hitch carrier from a friend for a camping trip to extend my cargo capacity when camping. I ended up having to use 4 ratchet straps just to keep it from bouncing around and dragging pavement...

    ^don't buy one of these.

Anyway, afterward my buddy introduced me to the Rola Cargo Carrier and I'll never look back.

    Highlights:

    1. Build Quality: this thing is WAY over built. It weighs a metric ton, but is absolutely bomb-proof construction.

    2. Elevated platform: instead of coming straight out like most cargo carriers, the Rola is elevated an inch or two (hard to see in photos). This makes the platform level to the bottom of my bumper, keeping my butt from dragging while off-roading.

    3. Threaded hitch pin: instead of the normal pin/clip into the hitch receiver, they provided a threaded nut that tightens into the tongue of the carrier. This makes the connection 100% rigid between the hitch and the carrier - no need for hitch stabilizers or ratchet straps!

^this little bit of engineering is the best thing since sliced bread.

That looks pretty sweet. Where'd you get it, how much did it cost, and where'd you take it?

I picked it up from Home Depot, on Sale for $130 a few months ago. You can snag one on Amazon for around $200. Its worth every penny.

Cape Lookout National Seashore, southern OBX in NC (technically called the Core Banks). Ferry access only, and you can camp right on the beach.

Awesome! Have fun! I go every summer, but it should be perfect in the fall.
