I'm looking to get a rotomolded cooler, and snoozed on 50% off opportunity on Otterbox coolers a few weekends ago.... Now, do you guys have any experience with those Bruin coolers, and would you recommend it to a "ffriend"?

I do not have one or any experience with them. I know Angelo and was just giving him shit.
Btw what is the price of this cooler you are getting. I know a place to get a 52 qt Refridgerator for less than 500

I’ve got an ozark trail 52 qt from Walmart. Far exceeded my expectations! Can easily go 5 days being conservative with how many times you open it a day.

Thing is that I'm not ready to spend $300-400 on a 45-50 qt Yeti or Otterbox cooler, and we (family) are not #overland enough to justify a fridge... Few Sundays ago there was a sale at BestBuy on Otterbox where I could have gotten a 45 qt cooler for $150 - right in my price alley, so now, 45 qt Bruin priced at $170 seems like a decent price. Buuut, 45 qt RTIC is only $20 mor expensive, and they have some pretty good reviews....

I don’t personally have a Bruin cooler but I do have a KYSEK that TJ Maxx/Marshall’s/home goods at times has. It’s up there with ice retention for about 10 days. Longest I’ve went was about 8. I also got a smaller no name brand rotomolded and that held ice for about 3-4 days and that was only 69 bucks.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any rotomolded cooler but one thing you can see right from the pictures are how thick the walls are. My KYSEK is only 35L but looks like a 40/50L because the damn walls are like 3-4 inches thick. My cheaper cooler the walls are maybe 2 inches. My friends ozark is 1-2 inches. His ice was melted by day 3 of our camping trip while my ice ended up forming a solid block so hard I couldn’t even break it lol

Just do a quick comparison of how thick the walls are and then you can take it from there

I have an Rtic 65 I purchased earlier this spring. I'm so unimpressed. It's bulky, super heavy and doesn't hold much on the inside. Real world, using it like a cooler, it basically keeps ice as long the igloo it replaced does.

I’ve actually heard a fair share of people having issues with their RTIC. Personally, the KYSEK 35 fills my needs just fine. I guess it really depends on how much stuff someone brings. For my gf and I it’s just food items in the 35L and then drinks inside the 20L. Eliminates the need to unnecessarily open the food cooler for a beer or other drinks

I have a RTIC 65, no complaints from me. It’s been abused in the back of my truck in some hot weather down some sweet trails. It kept stuff cool and some things frozen for 6 days. There is some good info out there on how to pack them the correct way. I always pre cool mine before loading it up with goods.

Definitely. Pre-chilling can make or break a camping trip.
