Did some searching and couldn't find much so maybe someone else has experienced this. Bought my truck about a month ago and finally tracked down this annoying rattle from the front drivers side fender area every time i hit a pothole at lower speed (15-30mph). The rattle is literally coming from the fender i can feel it moving and rattling when i hit a pothole everything looks bolted up from the outside, haven't check under the fender liner yet but that's next. Can anyone share some insight or guidance for me on things too check for?

Kind of a clunk sound? Like if a man didn’t know any better might think it was a bad BJ or bushing?

It's definitely a rattle, driving over potholes i can feel something rattling in my fender when i put my hand on it out the window. I did check my body mount bushings, skid plate bolts, shocks etc everything looks good.

That's actually a good idea, it sounds like a a few bolts or possibly a afew rocks or something inside of there rattling around every time i hit a pothole or manhole cover. What part of the fender did you find the rocks in, cause im always pulling random leaves and debris out from under my car hell i even pulled a dead bird out from between my skid plate and my frame rail the other day.

Found a dead bird wedged in my buddies 1st gen dodge headlight. Apparently that happens hahahaha.

Put your head on top of your tire like a pillow and look straight up. ALL the way up there where the panel actually meets (folded section where it’s bent for the hood to sit flush to). If it hasn’t rained recently get the air compressor out and get after it

So after spending a good hour trying too get the fender liner off i gave up, it seem i need too take the flare off too get the liner off? But that's the bad news the good news is I found this frustrating rattle, my truck has an aftermarket bumper and for some reason it was hitting and vibrating the fender flare! I found this by hitting the bumper with my knee when under the truck, I took a 1/2 inch thick piece of 3M double sided sticky foam and placed it between the bumper and fender flare.
