Hey all. I am coming down from British Columbia Canada to surprise my grandfather and grandmother for his 90th birthday. On my way back in early Sept (4-8) i am looking to go through Black Bear Pass on route to Moab.
I am a good driver and i am really good with directions and navigation. Should i arrange a guide to help me through the pass or go with a group?
Is anyone else going to be doing BB Pass and then Moab?
I am pretty excited to see the states for the first time.

This is my truck from a few months ago. It has gotten a few more upgrades since this picture .IMAG0122~2.jpg

You won't need a guide or a group for black bear. The trail is well marked and easy to navigate. Black bear is not that technical of a trail unless your scared of heights. There is numerous videos on YouTube about it, take a few minutes and watch a couple.

Yep, easy trail and easy to follow, just "scary" if you dont like high, skinny, shelf roads with tight switchbacks.

Well i am good with heights so it shouldn't be an issue. More for the experience

Enough people run it that you could just find someone out there if you want a spotter for navigating/ backing up on the 1-2 ledge switchbacks that simply can’t be made in a single go.
