Most of those aren’t necessary. I agree on the transmission but the rest forget it. Yeah they might be nice to have but I could care less about them. Whole point of a vehicle is to get from point A to point B not give you a massage and blow unicorn farts out the a/c vents.

I also have a TRD sport and an F150 XLT, TRD Sport drives better, more responsive, less body roll, and not sure how on earth you think a TRD sport is like a bare bones F150? My F150 is an 'extra truck' use it when Tacoma is taken apart for MOD's or hauling heavier loads like picking up new engines for the TRD sport, etc, lol, more friends borrow it more often than I use it! Only thing I like better in the F150 is the AC, it has hurricane force blizzard AC, and heavier load capacity. No redeeming qualities besides those. I did put some better coils up front, helps a little, but still drives like a land barge. I only bought the F150 because an idiot babied it, manicured it, did everything but change the freakin' oil, lol and blew the engine. Friend at Ford dealership said it came in and when they quoted the guy $13,000 for a new engine he wanted to trade it in, made low ball offer, got it for like $12,000 under book, friend had an engine, popped in a new engine, good to go.

Lol, didn't know Volvo's were made by Fix Or Repair Daily, lol! Only Volvo I ever had was a 240 GL back in the 1990's, heh, for a little 4 cyl, ran pretty good.

    I th
Ford bought Volvo in 1999 for 6 billion and sold it in 2010 for 1.8 billion.
They also sold Jaguar and Land Rover which they could not make profitable to TATA motors of India in 2008 for 2.6 billion. TATA motors has made both very profitable.

    Haha wrong!

I drive the hell out of my trucks and like to be treated like a king when I’m in them.
I spend average 60-70 hours a month in my truck. Its not just point A to point B.

Plus my largest issue is $$ the Tacoma costs like it blows unicorn farts out of the air vents.

Its bare bones in terms of features.

Also don’t get me started on the POS suspensions in the Tacoma.
My TRD Sport rides like shit after one 1,600lb load I put in it.
My leaf springs squeek after towing 1 time.
Thats my largest dissapointment with this truck.

I have put over 3,000lbs in my F250 with zero issues.

Also I only buy Lariats for a reason, suspensions are better (and options, its more expensive to add all that later).
And Fords truck rides are getting worse because of the large ass wheels they put on them. I test drove a King Ranch with 22’s. Those would come off day 1.
Even the XLTs now have large wheels.

    The higher models drive better.

I hope my next truck is the F150 diesel but... them things is expensive.

Yeah I’m with you on this. If the whole part of my rig was point A to point B ...I’d be driving a freaking Prius !
I enjoy my Tacoma’s, they’re fun to drive.
    Makes point A to B fun !
    Even when it’s nowhere special.
And when it’s off the asphalt taking me kayaking , fishing , camping , hiking or somewhere to enjoy my second Amendment well that’s when the freaking unicorn farts really start blowing!

    Ehhhhhhhhhh

I don’t normally put big time loads in the truck just here and there. I’m used to being able to abuse a truck a couple times a year and no harm done.

95% of the time the Tacoma works for me. Especially as a DD that doesn’t get 12-14mpgs ;)

It all comes back to $$$. If the Tacoma cost $25k it wouldn’t be a big deal. Throw a big ass suspension in there with some air bags and its great.
Now these things are getting to be $40k and still need work.

I want a midsize like the old Rangers. A cheap little truck you can mod to be a beast.
My neighbor modified his Ranger to handle 2500lbs of rock.

Thats more of my expectations. Keep it cheaper so you don’t mind doing the pricey mods to customize to needs.

Now even the Rangers are out of control on price. (Lariat $38k start point)

Ima keep my 2nd Gen until I die because its a cool collectors item and a nice hunting rig.

But you wont find me buying another one. Costs too much with no features or capability to justify the price.

Google maps on my IPhone is better than any NAV.

I want a nice ride but don't need a bunch of alarms bitching at me telling me how to drive or what to do. I am all for comfort but against extra electronic shit that will break. I paid more for our 4runner than I ever thought I would pay for a vehicle. I understand some people want those features but 99% of them aren't a necessity just a convenience or just a status symbol for some. I'd rather dump that extra cash for those features into a nice home versus something that is depreciating. Don't get me wrong I like nice vehicles and other things. I am a firm believer get what you pay for unless you buy an expensive ass Chevy then you overpaid for a piece of shit or Tesla whose rear bumpers come off in the rain.:rofl:
